John Stockton never stretched before games or practices during his career

John never stretched. I don't think anybody would believe it. He'd warm up, go up and down maybe twice with a basketball and then go 'Alright, let's go' and just bust everybody's asses. Unbelievable... he played 16 years without missing a game. So I guess it worked for John.

Stockton's durability and lack of traditional stretching routines are well-documented parts of his NBA lore.

Gonzaga is America's team because everyone's main team is secondary to them

I would describe us [Gonzaga] as America's team because we're always like, right? You have your main team, but everybody kind of cheers for Gonzaga, right?

Subjective claim about national perception of a mid-major powerhouse.

A major college basketball coach always knows when players are getting paid

There's no way a coach of a major program doesn't know exactly what's going on at his program. 100%. Totally agree. ... Especially with the sneaker companies doing that type of stuff, you have to kind of know that somebody's getting greased on the backside.

While often suspected, the degree of specific knowledge by head coaches is a matter of debate and varies by program.

Losing in college hurts more than the pros because you aren't millionaires yet

In professional sports, if you lose, there's no real losers in the NFL, MLB or NBA hockey... you're all millionaires... it's like, well, I'll go home in my Maserati and call it a night. And college, it's different.

This is a subjective perspective from a former high-level athlete.

The biggest difference for the 2017 Gonzaga team is their commitment to defense

They play defense. For years, we were always really good offensively, obviously, and we weren't terrible defensively, but we really didn't completely buy into it. I think that's the biggest difference that this team does is they rotate... overall, the attention to detail on defense has just made it a difference.

Gonzaga did finish 1st in Adjusted Defensive Efficiency in 2017 according to KenPom.

Gonzaga will beat North Carolina 75-71 in the National Championship

I'm going to go... Gonzaga, 75. North Carolina, 71.

North Carolina won the game 71-65, so Morrison's winner and score were both wrong.

Rage Against the Machine's debut self-titled album is their best

I would go, to be honest, their first album might be the best, to be honest. You don't skip a song on that album. You don't. Yeah, absolutely true. You can just throw it on. It's a perfect workout music.

Subjective opinion on music quality.

Kobe Bryant had the best left-handed shot in the NBA

Kobe's like, I'm the best left-handed, the best left-handed... Do you remember when he broke his finger? Okay, so he breaks his finger in the game, doesn't check out. His line that night was like 18 and something with just one hand. He literally played with one hand... He looks over and goes, Amo, like what? He goes, I told you I had the best fucking left hand in the league.

Kobe Bryant famously made several left-handed shots during his career, including a 3-pointer against the Mavs in 2012, but 'best in the league' is subjective.

Kobe Bryant was a self-made player who maximized his game through meticulous practice

The thing with Kobe too, is he really does work on his game. I always tell people he's a self-made player and people always kind of leave that out. He's obviously athletic, but that guy used to work on pivoting, passing, just weird stuff. He put in the time and obviously reaped the benefits from it.

Widely supported by many peers and biographers; Kobe's 'Mamba Mentality' is essentially the definition of being 'self-made' through work.
