The Los Angeles Rams are the most trustworthy team in the NFL right now

If you force me to pick one, I'd probably say the Rams. Matthew Stafford is playing at an MVP level. The defense is young, it's outstanding. ... I clearly trust the Rams more than anybody. I think they've been the most consistent team so far.

The Rams were one of the most trustworthy (12-5, MVP QB, NFCCG), but the Seahawks (14-3, SB champs) were ultimately more trustworthy.

The quarterbacks for Jacksonville, Miami, Philadelphia, and Arizona are the highest-paid players on their teams but are not the best players

Jacksonville, Miami, Philadelphia, Arizona—you know what those four teams have in common? The quarterback is the highest paid player on the team, but he's not the best player. ... when you have that dynamic... there's always something when the guy making the most money is not the best player.

The ranking of 'best player' is subjective, though the compensation is a fact.

This will be AJ Brown's last season with the Philadelphia Eagles

This is my gut feeling. I think this is AJ Brown's last season in Philadelphia. I think regardless of whether they win the championship or not, I think they're gonna move on from him. And Howie Roseman will continue to do what he's done masterfully, which is rebuild this team.

Whether Brown is traded or released after the 2025 season is pending.

The Broncos, Patriots, and Colts are more complete teams and better Super Bowl contenders than the Bills, Ravens, or Chiefs

I'm picking on the side of the Broncos, the Patriots, and the Colts. ... we are creatures that we love nostalgia. ... Old habits die really, really hard. And I think we think about the Ravens, the Chiefs, and the Bills. Yes, the best teams? No, they're not. The Ravens' defense is flawed. The Chiefs are 5-5. ... I think the teams like the Broncos and the Colts are more complete teams.

Booger McFarland said the Broncos, Patriots, and Colts were more complete teams and better Super Bowl contenders than the Bills, Ravens, or Chiefs. The Chiefs (6-11) and Ravens (8-9) both missed the playoffs, so he was right about them. However, the Colts collapsed from 8-2 to finish 8-9 and missed the playoffs entirely. The Broncos (AFC 1 seed) and Patriots (Super Bowl appearance) were strong, but the Bills also made the playoffs and won a wild card game. The take was partially right (Chiefs/Ravens bad, Broncos/Pats good) but wrong about the Colts being a complete team.

If the Chiefs lose to the Colts this Sunday, they will miss the playoffs

If the Chiefs lose to the Colts this Sunday, they're missing the playoffs. Period. Point blank. It's just math. ... This will be the first step into them basically kind of the dynasty crumbling because if they lose to the Colts, I'm telling you right now, you can book it. They're not making the playoffs.

The Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2014. Their season spiraled after key losses. The dynasty did indeed crumble in 2025.

Jaxson Dart is risking his career and long-term brain health by continuing to run given his history of concussions

Jaxson Dart has to realize, man, how many running quarterbacks are alive to be like 10-year running quarterbacks? ... The shelf life doesn't last long. He's gotta modify his running style. He's been in concussion protocol four times. That's not good. ... His brain will be jelly by the time he's in year three. He just can't do that.

Verifiable in the long term by Dart's injury history and career longevity.

Pat Fitzgerald. One blank. Agree. If the Penn State people can get past allegedly what happened at Northwestern... doesn't it make a lot of sense? ... I was ready to go outside and head to the Northeast and just get cold and frozen and play for Pat Fitzgerald.

Pat Fitzgerald was NOT hired by Penn State. He was hired by Michigan State. Penn State hired Matt Campbell.

College football coaches should never play more than 20 rounds of golf per year

You should not golf during the season whatsoever at all. August to January, no golf. Once the season is over... if your coach is playing more than 20 rounds a year, then you got the wrong coach.

This is a subjective management philosophy.

Oklahoma is limited offensively because they cannot run the ball and rely too heavily on John Mateer

When you go against the best teams, your flaws show. And the defense was outstanding [against Alabama]... but if you look at the offense, Alabama outgained them two to one. ... They're limited offensively and so much is put on the quarterback [John Mateer]. ... I don't know who they would play where I would favor them because they're limited offensively.

Will be tested in Oklahoma's remaining regular season games and potential playoff matchups.

Indiana won the title (correctly included). Miami made the championship game. However, Alabama and Georgia did not advance as far as predicted.

I think James Madison is gonna wind up getting in. I think the schedule with the, they got what, one game left. I think it's pretty favorable. We'll see.

James Madison made the College Football Playoff in 2025 as the 12th seed after going undefeated in Sun Belt play. They lost 51-34 to Oregon in the first round but Booger McFarland was correct that they would get in.

LSU's Garrett Nussmeier is the best quarterback in the country and will be the first QB taken in the draft

I think we got the best quarterback in the country. Garrett Nussmeier... I think he's the best anticipation thrower that we've seen in a long time. I think he'll be the first quarterback taken when it's all said and done.

Nussmeier is a high-level prospect, but being the #1 QB is a very bold prediction.

Alabama's players looked out of shape and lacked the necessary effort in their loss to Florida State

The most surprising thing... they didn't play with a lot of effort, they almost reminded me of guys that weren't in shape. Like they were loafing. They didn't run to the ball. It was like they just didn't care... the thing that made Alabama really good, which was the attention to detail, the effort, they didn't have.

Subjective evaluation of effort and physical conditioning based on game film.

Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer will be a Heisman contender this season

John Mateer from Oklahoma was outstanding. Love him... to go from Jackson Arnold to John Mateer, it feels like going from a stripper named honey love to bashful. It's a totally different mindset. [He's] gotta be up there [for the Heisman].

John Mateer was not a Heisman contender by season's end. While he started hot and briefly had the best Heisman odds, he suffered a broken bone in his throwing hand mid-season. Oklahoma finished 10-3 and lost in the CFP first round. The finalists were Mendoza, Love, Pavia, and Sayin — Mateer was not among them.

The ACC is wide open this season and Florida State could return to the playoff

I think the ACC is more wide open than we've ever seen. We all thought that Clemson was gonna run away with it... Florida State might be the most physical team in the country... wouldn't it be something, two years after they didn't get into the playoffs going 13 and oh, they get into the playoffs this season. To me that would be just like the right thing for the football guys to do.

Booger McFarland predicted Florida State could return to the playoff in 2025. Florida State finished 5-7 overall and 2-6 in ACC play, missing the postseason for a second consecutive year.

If the Colts get competent quarterback... I don't know if Daniel Jones is ever gonna be a superstar, but remember Andy Dalton? If Daniel Jones was Andy Dalton... that's my point. If [Richardson] can just get close to being a red rifle, they got enough talent around him.

Booger McFarland predicted if the Colts got competent QB play (like Andy Dalton level), they'd be a playoff team. The Colts had inconsistent QB play between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones (who tore his Achilles). They finished 8-9 and missed the playoffs.

Unless you're five years old, nobody really eats a plain burger. I think that's Jalen Hurts. College football needs a CBA to govern NIL and the transfer portal

I think college football needs a CBA to kind of govern this because it's clear that the federal government is not gonna step in... right now you got a fall transfer portal period, you got a spring transfer portal period... name, image and likeness was put in place just for that. I think if you're the Bears, because where Caleb Williams is, I think his ceiling is so much higher than Justin Fields. Justin Fields can develop into a really, really good quarterback... If you can't make the layups and the free throws, I'm not concerned that you can make the Alley-OOP dunk. Anytime a quarterback is living by running a football, that quarterback can't survive.

The way to stop the 'Tush Push' is to physically assault the quarterback

How do you stop it? It's really simple. The defensive tackles have to get down very, very low and take out those offensive linemen. And then you have to have linebackers that are willing to come over the top with forearms and elbows and just go right at the quarterback. You have to physically hit the dude.
