Pay-per-view is definitely not dead

Pay-per-view isn't dead. I mean, I'm gonna do a pay-per-view this Saturday. And when we were doing this deal, you know, even with the streaming services that we were talking to all the different ones, some of them still had pay-per-view options. So pay-per-view is not dead. That's not true.

The health of the PPV industry is a complex economic reality that remains to be seen in the long term.

Fighter pay has increased with every new deal and will continue to go up with the Paramount Plus deal

Since 2001, the day we bought this company fighter pay has gone up. Every new deal that we've done, fight, pay has gone up and obviously fight or pay will go up for this deal. It's incredible for the fighters.

While total pay has increased as the business grows, critics often point to the percentage of revenue shared with fighters, making the 'increase' a point of debate.

Power Slap is the most successful business I have ever been part of in such a short time

The most successful business I've ever been a part of in such a short amount of time. [Power Slap]

Hard to verify without internal financials, but Dana has consistently staked his reputation on this claim.

The UFC is working on a major fight for the fall that nobody will see coming

What I was talking about in December... I would imagine it's probably gonna happen and it's gonna happen in the fall, a fight that I'm working on... [And we'll never see it coming] Nope.

Verification will come when the major fall UFC card is announced.

Kamaru Usman will go down as the GOAT if he stays on his current trajectory

I just think Usman, he's the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world right now. And I think he's going to probably end up going down as the GOAT, man, if he keeps on this trajectory. I mean, he's lapping these guys right now.

Usman lost his title shortly after and suffered multiple defeats to Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev, cooling his 'GOAT' status significantly.

Ariel Helwani is a pussy and a crybaby victim

He's just one of those fucking, he's a pussy, and he's a fucking, just a big fucking crybaby victim... We have the toughest sport in the world being covered by the biggest pussies in the world.

This is an entirely subjective personal insult.

Conor McGregor is still one of the top ten best fighters in the world

Conor McGregor... he's still one of the top ten guys in the world. I mean, he's still one of the top ten best guys in the world... Conor coming back is a headliner.

McGregor has not fought in years following his leg break and has fallen out of the official top rankings.

Tito Ortiz is literally one of the dumbest human beings on planet earth

I think that [Oscar De La Hoya] is getting a lot of this information from Tito Ortiz who is literally and I'm not just saying this to be real he's one of the dumbest human beings on planet earth he's primate level this guy

Whether someone is the 'dumbest' is subjective, though Ortiz's public speaking blunders are well-documented.

Jon Jones would have been the LeBron of MMA if he had his personal life together

If you look at how good Jon Jones is, and if he had his personal life together, what a big star he'd be right now and how much money he would have made. He would have been the LeBron of this sport.

Jones is widely considered the GOAT in the cage, but his star power never quite reached mainstream crossover status like LeBron.

The 'Affliction' and 'True Religion' fashion days of the UFC were horrible

The affliction days were bad. The affliction days were bad. It was so funny you just said that to me because we were looking we were doing all these documentaries about the ufc... affliction horrible those days and the god what were those jeans true religion. Oh my God. I see the true religion jeans and all that stuff I'm like shoot me.

This reflects a general cultural consensus that those early 2010s fashion trends did not age well.

Jon Jones is the greatest MMA fighter of all time

I think [Jon Jones] is the greatest of all time. I think if he had done everything the way he should have, he'd be a huge superstar. He might even be the heavyweight champion of the world.

While controversial due to PEDs, many experts still consider Jones the GOAT, and he did eventually become Heavyweight Champion in 2023.

Ronda Rousey is underrated for what she built in women's MMA

Underrated. Look at what she did. Look at what she built. She started it all... That whole combination of what she was is what built the women's mixed martial arts world. It's like a chicken and the egg phenomenon.

Rousey's role as a pioneer is undisputed, even if her late-career performance was criticized.

If Johnny Hendricks loses at UFC 217, he should retire

I think [Hendricks] would have to start looking at retirement. [if he loses].

Hendricks did lose at UFC 217 and subsequently retired from MMA shortly after.
