The tush push will be banned in the NFL by 2026

My Preemptive Take of the Year. In the year 2026. It will be. So the back half of the next year's Takies, the tush push will be banned. I'm not saying I want it to be. But that is my preemptive take. I'm staking my reputation on, I think it will be banned. I think that more teams will start complaining. And I think that the NFL wants it banned.

The tush push was not banned; the NFL chose to continue monitoring it rather than outlawing it for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.

Caleb Williams is entering the best situation for a second-year quarterback in the history of the NFL

I truly believe this by the way. I think that the situation that Caleb Williams is in right now is the best situation in the history of second-year quarterbacks in the entire NFL. Think about it. They shored up the offensive line. They got rid of Matt Eberflus. That's good for six wins right there. They finally have a GM and a coach that are lined up on the same contract. They've got an offensive wizard at head coach who's got a bag that's deeper than the Mariana Trench.

While Williams had a strong support system, his rookie season and the transition to his second year were marred by offensive coaching changes and O-line struggles in reality.

Gus Edwards will lead the NFL in rushing TDs and Ladd McConkey will win Rookie of the Year

Gus Edwards will lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns. Also [Ladd McConkey] will be Rookie of the Year. [Edwards] is on the Chargers.

Shane predicted Gus Edwards would lead the NFL in rushing TDs and Ladd McConkey would win Rookie of the Year. Edwards had only 4 rushing TDs (the leaders had 16), and Jayden Daniels won Offensive Rookie of the Year, not McConkey. Both parts of this prediction were wrong.

The Patriots will have more combined wins than the Bears and Commanders

My preemptive take of the year is that Drake Maye in New England [Patriots] are going to have more combined wins than the Washington football team and Chicago Bears.

The Patriots went 4-13 in 2024. The Bears went 5-12 and the Commanders went 12-5, for a combined 17 wins. The Patriots' 4 wins were far fewer than the Bears and Commanders' combined 17.

Dan Orlovsky will do a one-on-one sit-down interview with Deshaun Watson to teach him how to 'not be horny'

I think that we are going to get a, one-on-one sit down interview with Dan Orlovsky and Deshaun Watson. And he is going to set him straight on how to not be horny... Dan Orlovsky, according to his rules, it would be like, 'Deshaun, don't ever go to a room by yourself. Don't ever be in the same room as a woman.'

This interview never happened.

It is time for Bill Belichick to retire because the game has passed him by

It's time for Bill Belichick to retire. Has the game passed him by?... If Mac Jones is not the answer this year... I think we're gonna have the conversation: 'Bill, is it time to go coach lacrosse?'

Belichick did not retire after that season, though the Patriots continued to struggle, eventually leading to his departure in early 2024.
