I would make the counter argument for basketball specifically the fact that we have NIL and guys get paid. NFL referees are too focused on physical fitness and should spend more time in the lab

Here's my problem with refs. They've gotten too focused on physical fitness recently. We used to have one jacked ref that was Ed Hochuli. All these other guys are like, I wanna have big arms too. They need to be in the lab, not in the gym.

The quality of officiating is subjective and debated weekly, but the 'jacked ref' trend is a visible phenomenon.

The Arizona Cardinals head coaching job is a bad one to take

Obviously you take a job if it's offered to you, but that seems like a not great job to take. Because it's a, well, number one, it's the Cardinals. Number two, they don't really have a plan at quarterback at all. Number three, every other coach in your division rocks.

That's my concern with a run first quarterback like that. Especially taking shots on your right shoulder, because that's the only position that a guy can't play if he's got a sore right shoulder. He took a shot, got tackled, and then he got up shaking his shoulder out, and then the very next throw he kind of short armed it, went down to the right. And now he's popped up on the injury report.

Whether Drake May's shoulder affected his Super Bowl performance is beyond my knowledge cutoff.

I do think that Vrabel is going to take a little bit of that personally, not that he needs extra motivation. This is a quintessential Mike Vrabel game. Mike Vrabel has an underdog. If he's an underdog of three points or more this year, he's been two and oh in those games. His lifetime record in those games is above 500 as an underdog.
