The Super Bowl will be dominated by Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes for the next 10 years

I said this maybe 2021, that the next 10 years, the Super Bowl's gonna be dominated by Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, and Patrick Mahomes. They're just gonna trade out in the next 10 years. You're gonna see one of 'em win the Super Bowl.

This is an ongoing 10-year window. Mahomes has multiple wins, Burrow has an appearance, Allen is still searching.

Failure to win a championship is an indictment of the Buffalo Bills organization, not Josh Allen

Josh Allen's ready to go to the Super Bowl. He just needs the help that Patrick got that others in history have gotten... If Josh Allen doesn't [win], that says more about the bills, in my mind, it says more about the bills than it does Josh Allen.

Subjective organizational critique.

Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers are a dangerous 'watch out' team in the playoffs due to their defense and running game.

Aaron Rodgers to me makes them watch out. Because you just get into a playoff game, you play great defense, you run the football, you win the line of scrimmage... He's the kind of guy that can take advantage of it. So I'd be super careful with Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers.

The outcome of the Steelers/Texans game and subsequent playoff rounds will determine their 'watch out' status.

Super Bowl prediction: Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos

I think I, I have, if I was just a gun to my head... I think I'd say Seattle, Denver, I think I'd go chalk. I just, I being at home... defensively both of those squads are showing up with a defense that is elite.

Seattle made and won the Super Bowl (correct). But Denver lost in the AFCCG to New England. SB was Seahawks vs Patriots.

Any NFL team without an innovative offensive mind from the McVay/Shanahan tree will be out of the league soon

If you don't have the innovative mind and process and play calling stacking of someone from the tree of Sean Payton, Andy Reid, Sean McVay, or Kyle Shanahan, then get out of the league. ... It's not working. And you look at what's happened in Jacksonville, Liam Cohen... he's the fruit of the tree, right? And he gets it.

This is a qualitative assessment of league trends, though most top teams do currently follow these offensive philosophies.

Justin Herbert's throwing ability is the 'Mona Lisa' of football

If throwing a football was supposed to be artistic or beautiful, that is the Mona Lisa, this guy. He's the guy that as a fellow thrower... when I watch him throw, I'm like, oh, it gives your heart beats value. Like, oh that is beautiful.

Purely subjective aesthetic evaluation of a QB's throw.

Lamar Jackson is a top-tier 'closer' similar to an NBA superstar and the criticism against him is unwarranted

Lamar was, by the way, don't—anyone says, wants to dig at Lamar, screw that. I'm done with it. Like the dude is all. If he gets the help and he gets the time, he's—he was clutch. ... It's the NBA. Like who's the closer? Do you have a closer? ... Lamar was, in that way, if you have that guy the last couple minutes, you can put up 21 points combined.

Jackson's career trajectory and playoff success are the ultimate judges, but Young is stating this as a settled opinion.

It is absolutely possible for the 49ers to 'clap back' and make a playoff run

I think this is a group of people that have proven some real resilience. I mean, this is some, some hearty folks... so I would say to your question, can they clap back and make something happen? They're under duress. They gotta win... and so yeah, it's absolutely possible. It's possible. Hard but possible.

The 49ers collapsed late in the 2024 season, failing to make the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers should be dominating the league more because he learned in a more sophisticated era

The job that [Aaron Rodgers] had 15 years ago is so much harder than it is today. Today's game, as Tom Brady describes, the flats are open, the, the middle of the field's unpatrolled and no one can hit me... anyone that's hung around long enough to know in a sophisticated time should be dominating.

This is an expert evaluation of the evolution of the QB position.

If I had joined the Broncos in 2000, I probably would have won another Super Bowl with Mike Shanahan

Mike [Shanahan] was all in. He was all in. And I just, I don't know... I should have jumped in. I I would've played 2000 to maybe two or three years... [Do you think you would have won another Super Bowl?] Why not? Let's go. I mean if history was anything like what we had before, it was good stuff.

This is a hypothetical 'what if' that cannot be proven.

Sliding is dangerous for quarterbacks and should be removed from the game

Sliding the game, look, the game changed when they change the rules... it puts your head on a pedestal right at the level of people's knees. And, and, and, and, like you basically are saying and, and, and by sliding you're opening yourself up. Right? It's like, oh, hit me in the face... I think sliding to make it safe for quarterbacks is impossible. So get rid of it.

This is a safety and rules proposal from a former player.

Jerry Rice's records are untouchable because he was driven by a constant fear of losing his job

Jerry Rice was driven by the same thing until he, the day he retired, he thought someone was gonna take his job. And so he, he lived in a state of... anxiety that, that I need to go to work... Jerry Rice, even today when the game is wide open, Jerry Rice is, all his records should be under duress. Right. They should be being lapped in today's game. And you can't get close to him.

Jerry Rice's career records (receptions, yards, TDs) remain standing by massive margins in 2024.

Caleb Williams has it, but he needs to learn to 'get out and make plays' instead of waiting for the pocket

I see it in Caleb [Williams]... but you gotta get into a spot where you can get some help. What I didn't like about Caleb's game yesterday is in the first half... get out, man. And start like make plays. Like we're not going down this way.

This is a subjective evaluation of a player's development.

The Vikings would be insane to let Sam Darnold leave even with JJ McCarthy returning

You're insane to not sign a guy that's doing that for you... If I was Sam, I am not going back to one of those places that doesn't take care of and doesn't understand the quarterback position. I refuse. So I will go compete to go to one of those places that does. Yeah.

The Vikings let Sam Darnold leave in free agency. He signed with the Seahawks for $100.5M. Despite Steve Young saying they'd be 'insane' to let him go, the Vikings chose to go with JJ McCarthy and let Darnold walk.

Apathy and losing in the NFL is almost always an ownership accountability problem

I blame ownership. And unfortunately in this league you can't because it, equity ownership's not gonna change... you can't overcome apathy... how do we help ownership be accountable? Yeah. Because it would make the team, if they could feel that accountability and answer to it, it would help the team.

This is a structural critique of professional sports ownership.
