Mike Tomlin is under immense pressure because he hasn't won a playoff game since 2016

I think Mike Tomlin has a ton of pressure because Mike Tomlin, he hasn't won a playoff game since 2016... his last 14 years in Pittsburgh, he's three and eight... this is just another year where it's like, hey, you have not won a playoff game then we're gonna be going on almost a decade of you not winning a playoff game.

The Steelers lost to the Ravens in the 2025 Wild Card round, extending his streak of no playoff wins.

The Giants GM and coach will overspend in free agency to save their jobs in 2025

What is the GM gonna do? He's probably gonna spend as much money as he possibly can at in free agency... now you have the coach and GM in their Hot Seat years. Gonna just try to spend as much money as possible and hope that that keeps their job.

The Giants were aggressive in free agency, signing defensive backs and making trades. Brian Daboll was fired midseason after a 2-8 start, while GM Joe Schoen was retained. They did spend in free agency but the results were still bad (4-13 record).

The Giants will likely start a rookie quarterback early in the season to save their jobs

If they get Cam Ward or Shedeur or somebody like that and they wait around for four weeks into the regular season and he doesn't look great in practice, they're going to be more likely to be like, fuck it, let's just pull the emergency start rookie quarterback lever so that we can save our own job.

The Giants started rookie Jaxson Dart in Week 4, early in the season, after going 0-3 with Russell Wilson. Dart was drafted 25th overall and took over as the starter.

Mike McCarthy is a better head coaching hire than Ben Johnson because McCarthy is a proven winner

Mike McCarthy has at least proven himself as a head coach. There's been many examples of stud offensive coordinators not working on his head coaches. You have a better chance of doing [well] with Mike McCarthy than Ben Johnson. I'm not even joking about that. I'd rather take a proven winner.

This is subjective, but comparing a Super Bowl winner to an unproven coordinator is a standard football debate.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
