The NBA should start its season on Christmas Day and play only 60 games

I am a big proponent of starting it like [a] 60 game season started on December 25th. Remember the year, the lockout year? That started. That was awesome. It was good [the] best schedule... I think every sport outside of football should do smaller seasons.

The Celtics' Game 1 win over the Pacers was a 'wake-up call win,' which is the best kind of win

It was a wake up call win, which are the best types of wake up calls... they overcame, they were stumbling at the end of the fourth quarter, couple of really bad turnovers. Jalen Brown was not playing good in the fourth quarter. And then he came up clutch when it mattered most.

The Celtics won Game 1 and eventually swept the Pacers, suggesting they were indeed awake.

The Pacers' Game 1 loss to the Celtics is the most demoralizing loss possible

This seems like the most demoralizing loss possible. The Pacers had the game won and they gave it away. And when you give a game away like that in the last like 20 seconds, it feels like even if it goes into overtime, there's nothing good that's gonna happen to you.

The Pacers did not win another game in the series after this loss.

I predict the Celtics will blow out the Pacers in Game 2

Blowout wake up call. Celtics. They've been woken up. This was the perfect ending. It was a wake up call win.

The Celtics won Game 2 by 16 points (126-110), which qualifies as a blowout.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
