The 'Patriot Way' was actually just having Tom Brady

I think they finally realized that the Patriot way is just having Tom Brady on your team... my counterpoint to that would be if the Patriots decided to answer all the questions and be like gregarious with the media, it wouldn't matter. 'Cause they still have Tom Brady.

Belichick's record without Brady is often used to support this, but it remains a subjective debate about culture vs. talent.

The Russell Wilson trade is one of the worst in sports history

Russell Wilson's trade, when looking back on it, the Broncos gave up two first round picks... two second round picks a fifth round pick Drew Lock, Shelby Harris, Noah Fant. And they got back Russell Wilson in a fourth round pick. And then they signed Russell Wilson to a $242 million contract. And he played for the Broncos for two terrible years. And yeah, I think it might be one of the worst trades in sports history.

The trade is widely regarded by sports analysts and historians as one of the most lopsided and disastrous trades in NFL history due to the assets lost and the dead money hit.

Russell Wilson will start at least 18 more games in the NFL

I think you asked me at the end of the season, like over under Russ Wilson starts 16 or 17 and a half more games. Yeah. I still take the over on it. I think that there's gonna be a team out there that's gonna sign him to be a starting quarterback next season.

Russell Wilson started 3 games for the Giants in 2025 and previously started 16 games for the Steelers in 2024, plus his prior starts. He exceeded 18 additional starts from when this take was made in March 2024.

Russell Wilson isn't a good quarterback anymore

I still would probably want Kirk Cousins [over Russell Wilson]. I don't think Russell Wilson's good anymore.

Russell Wilson started the 2024 season as a backup/injured for the Steelers before reclaimed the starting job and playing efficiently, showing he still had some starter-level ability.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
