We were very wrong about Herm Edwards. I can't believe I'm sitting here saying this, but I think I believe in Herm. Herm Edwards could recruit me.
Herm had a decent run at ASU (7-6, 8-5) before it fell apart due to recruiting violations and a losing 2021-2022 period.

Herm Edwards... gave the Sun Devil slogan, which is also the shocker... There's no way that Herm knows that he's giving the shocker. Absolutely. Putting two in the pink, one in the stink.
The similarity is a long-running joke in sports media, though Edwards's actual awareness is unknown.

I bet you $1 that Herm Edwards could get the exact same record as all of our other coaches and go 4-7.
In his first season (2018), Herm Edwards went 7-6. He never actually finished a season with exactly 4 wins at ASU (closest was 5-6 in the shortened 2020).
