This 2020 Packers squad is the best Green Bay team in a decade

One of the words that was brought up last year a lot with this Green Bay Packer team was 'soft.' ... but they have seemed to remove that the last six weeks of the regular season... To me, this is the best Green Bay Packer football team probably in a decade.

The 2020 Packers finished with the #1 offense and Aaron Rodgers won MVP. While they lost in the NFC Championship, they are widely considered one of their strongest rosters of the Rodgers era.

Akiem Hicks is the most important player on the Bears' defense

When Akiem Hicks isn't being absolutely dominant in his position, drawing all kinds of attention, Khalil Mack isn't the same guy. He's getting too much double teams, too much attention from offensive coordinators to really be impactful this year.

This is a common football analyst opinion, but inherently subjective regarding player value.

The Bills and Chiefs are the biggest threats to the Packers winning a title

I think the teams truly to worry for the Green Bay Packers are in the AFC. I think it's the Chiefs with their ability to score really fast. And I think it's the Buffalo Bills because Josh Allen somehow grew a hose in the last offseason and can throw the ball at any point in time.

The Chiefs did make the Super Bowl, but the Packers lost to the Buccaneers (an NFC team), so they never faced these AFC threats.

The 2019 Packers offense is set up perfectly for a versatile fullback like Danny Vitale

I told him, I did tell you this offense is set up sweet for [Danny Vitale]. I mean, his set of skills, you don't play Lorenzo Neal fullback anymore in the NFL... you're not just sledding downhill, smoking your face mask on another guy's face mask. You gotta be versatile. You gotta be able to catch 20 yard, 30 yard passes downfield and you gotta be able to run the football.

The take is inherently subjective as it assesses a player's fit within a scheme, but Vitale did see increased usage as a 'superback' early in the season before injuries slowed him down.

Fast players are at a disadvantage in 'slow' conditions like the long grass at Northwestern's stadium

Fast guys don't know how to run in slow conditions... Slow guys know how to run slow conditions. If you slow down enough. We went down to Chicago one time with Ryan Grant, one of the fastest guys I've ever played with. He would get out of the backfield and just start stumbling... those fast guys, they just can't handle that grass being that long.

This is a subjective athletic theory common among players to explain home-field advantages like 'slow' turf or long grass.

Aaron Rodgers tends to shun people and stop communicating during the NFL offseason

He'll shun you. Shun off, shun on. Yeah, he will. Yeah, it's like a fog mask. It's way true. He'll get you. It's usually in the offseason when he leaves Green Bay. I think his phone doesn't work from a different area.

This has been a widely reported trait of Rodgers' personality by various former teammates and media members over the years.
