Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira could be one of the greatest fights ever if Adesanya is aggressive

Israel Adesanya... has never lost at 185 pounds, but as a kickboxer he lost twice to this man [Alex Pereira] and once was knocked out rather violently. ... If he approaches this with a more aggressive tenor, this could be one of the greatest fights of all time.

The fight was highly acclaimed and ended in a dramatic 5th round TKO for Pereira, largely fulfilling the hype.

Mac Jones is definitively not the guy to lead the Patriots long-term

I would put a tattoo bet on it right now that [Mac Jones] is not gonna realize anything resembling long-term NFL success. ... everybody locally in Boston understands that he has a C arm at best. Like he's a good leader of men... but that only goes so far.

Mac Jones was benched in 2023 and traded to the Jaguars in 2024 to be a backup, confirming he was not the long-term solution in New England.

Lamar Jackson is better than Michael Vick

I don't need Michael Vick to tell me that this dude [Lamar Jackson] is gonna be better than Michael Vick. And was there no room for improvement for Lamar once he got to the league? Like how did so many teams fucking miss on that?

Lamar Jackson has since won a second MVP (2023), further strengthening the argument that he has a more decorated career than Vick.

Patty Pimblett must change his lifestyle to reach the top 10

I think the question for me is, is he [Patty Pimblett] gonna adopt the championship lifestyle 24/7/365 that will allow him... you can't eat after. ... it's not sustainable. ... eventually to realize top 10 type success in what is our toughest, deepest division, he's gonna have to make some lifestyle changes.

Subjective career assessment, though Pimblett's weight fluctuations are a well-documented concern in the MMA community.

The betting line for Molly McCann vs. Erin Blanchfield is out of whack

I will though just say that the Molly McCann price to me seems out of whack. Erin Blanchfield's a great grappler but minus 400 given what Molly has done of late, that surprises me.

Blanchfield ended up winning by first-round submission, suggesting the high favorite price was actually justified.

Nate Diaz is the cleanest athlete on the UFC roster

It's also probably the cleanest Athlete on the roster right a guy who immediately screamed innocence from the rooftops, which you would want any got to do. I always wonder why more guys if they do get flagged don't immediately do what Nate Diaz did... because then people really feel like you're innocent in this case obviously he was.

While Diaz has a reputation for being 'clean' and outspoken against PEDs, calling anyone in the UFC the 'cleanest' is subjective and difficult to verify definitively.

Conor McGregor will return on January 18th against Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone

I think it's going to be January 18th our first pay-per-view of 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. I mean he has hinted at that date other Fighters have hinted that he has contracts in hand. So I'm hopeful for January... I think Cerrone he's probably got the inside track.

McGregor fought Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 on January 18, 2020, exactly as predicted.

Tony Ferguson must be the next undisputed UFC lightweight title contender

Tony Ferguson is absolutely impossible to deny right now. 11 straight wins at 155 pounds. His next fight has to be for the undisputed UFC lightweight championship, and I can't say that any louder.

While Anik said it 'has' to be, it never was for the undisputed belt. Ferguson fought Donald Cerrone and then Justin Gaethje for an interim title, losing his streak before ever fighting for the undisputed belt.

The Mayweather-McGregor fight is a lifeline for the sport of boxing

I think boxing, in some respect, should be thankful to Conor McGregor because boxing hasn't been the biggest story in sports, certainly since Mayweather Pacquiao. ... So I think in some respects, this is a lifeline for boxing.

The fight was one of the highest-selling PPVs ever, though boxing's survival being dependent on it is an opinion.

Jon Jones' drug test failure for steroids is likely indefensible if he remains silent

If you have any sort of defense ... when guys pop ... especially for an anabolic steroid that allegedly is ingested orally ... you're screaming from the rooftops, telling everybody you're innocent. ... instead of trying to provide answers or some sort of statement, we're not hearing much from Jon Jones.

Jones was ultimately suspended for 15 months, and his UFC 214 win was overturned to a No Contest.

Floyd Mayweather will beat Conor McGregor by decision

I see some betting value on Floyd Mayweather at plus 230 by decision ... I feel pretty convicted that Floyd's not going to knock Conor McGregor out.

Floyd Mayweather won by TKO in the 10th round, not by decision.

Donald Cerrone is a strong betting value against Kelvin Gastelum

I got to say I see value on the Cerrone side. He's been unstoppable as a welterweight... To me, a guy like Donald Cerrone, who you know brings it the way he does in that minus 155 range... would be appetizing to some bettors.

The fight was cancelled at the last minute because Kelvin Gastelum did not make weight.

Joanna Jędrzejczyk is the baddest woman on the planet

But, dude, [Jędrzejczyk], this champion, just Joanna for short. Dude, she's the baddest woman on the planet. I think she stands to gain the most from being on a pay-per-view led by Conor McGregor.

Jedrzejczyk was the dominant undefeated strawweight champion at the time, though this remains an opinion.

Tyron Woodley is a live underdog against Stephen Thompson

Tyron Woodley can do it all, and he's going to have to wrestle... he does have the bigger power shot. So to me, plus 166, plus 170... I think there's a little value there... don't sleep on Tyron Woodley. I think he's a live dog.

The fight ended in a majority draw. Woodley was very much 'live' as he nearly finished Thompson, but since it wasn't a win, 'live dog' is partially correct in spirit as he retained the title.

Conor McGregor has a great chance to knock out Eddie Alvarez in the first round

I think there's a great chance Conor McGregor gets [Eddie Alvarez] out of there in the first round, to be honest with you. Connor's that specialist striker... Connor's left hand is no joke man and i don't know i think he lands and he finds it

McGregor did dominate and finish Alvarez, though it happened in the 2nd round (TKO), not the 1st.

Larry the Goldfish has a great chance to cash in the Westgate SuperContest

I'm rooting for him, man. 26-18-1. I think he's going to cash. I think he has a great chance to cash, which is just unbelievable.

Larry finished the 2016 season with a 42-42-1 record, failing to finish in the money.

UFC 202 will break the all-time pay-per-view record and hit 1.6-1.7 million buys

I had already said and gone on record as thinking that this is going to break the pay-per-view record because it has the biggest name in the sport, Conor McGregor... I think it's interesting with not a ton of star power to see if he can break the record and do 1.6, 1.7 million pay-per-view buys with Nate Diaz largely on their own.

UFC 202 was estimated at 1.6 million buys, which at the time did break the record (or tied it depending on source).

Conor McGregor will win the rematch against Nate Diaz on points

I think Conor is going to fight a more disciplined fight. I think he might have to win on points. But again, I got to be on that side.

McGregor defeated Nate Diaz via Majority Decision (on points) at UFC 202 on August 20, 2016.

UFC 200 will still do over one million pay-per-view buys even without Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier

Dana, dude, he's like so immune to this that he doesn't really even get upset anymore. And thankfully, this fight card, even without Cormier and Jones, is as good a main card on pay-per-view as we've ever put together. So I still think you're north of a million pay-per-view buys.

UFC 200 reportedly drew approximately 1.009 million PPV buys, making this correct.

Mark Hunt will beat Brock Lesnar at UFC 200

Brock hasn't fought mixed martial arts since 2011. So I see some value on Mark Hunt. Strong lean for me towards Mark Hunt. I think you always fade a guy who hasn't competed in five years. Even an athlete as exceptional as Brock Lesnar, he's going to have to prove to me that he's back in this space and ready to win against a guy who is in the top ten.

Lesnar originally won the fight via unanimous decision. However, the result was later overturned to a No Contest after Lesnar tested positive for banned substances.

Conor McGregor has no chance against Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match

Conor would have to step away from mixed martial arts and focus exclusively on boxing for like two years to have any sort of chance against Floyd Mayweather. I don't like Conor in that fight at all. ... I don't give Conor much of a chance.

Mayweather defeated McGregor via 10th-round TKO in 2017. McGregor was competitive early but ultimately had no real chance to win.
