NFL games should be played in domes to ensure the best version of teams win championships

I want to see the best version of the Bills against the best version of the Patriots. And I want the best team to win, not the best team in those conditions... I just, I don't want that stuff to dictate who wins these games and who ultimately, you know, creates history and wins championships. I don't want that to be the case... I'd rather play in a dome in every, every game that I play than anywhere else.

Warm-weather and dome teams have a massive disadvantage because it is impossible to mentally acclimate to the cold in one day

There is a mental component to playing the game... the mental component to going from a warm weather place to a cold weather place and having to deal with the elements and not knowing how to do that is a real thing. I can go to the dome in Arizona... and we don't deal with as much of a disadvantage as [cold teams] do having to come to our place because we're accustomed to [the heat].

Mac Jones is playing mentally as well as anyone in the NFL

I always look at the quarterback position... I look at it mentally and I say, does he know what he's looking at? Does he know how to make different throws? Does he get his eyes in the right place at the right time? And [Mac Jones] is doing that as well as just about anybody in the league.

Mac Jones' performance declined sharply in subsequent seasons, eventually leading to his trade. Warner's praise proved to be based on a temporary peak.

Baker Mayfield and Kirk Cousins have reached their ceilings as 'playoff' guys, not championship guys

Kirk Cousins, another guy you're just like, come on, man. Like at some point we've got to turn this corner... [Baker Mayfield] may not be that guy. I mean, let's be honest, right? How many guys are there that you can build around with their right arm?... Then your next decision is, are we okay with the playoff guy? Are we okay with the guy that's better than what we've had, but we're going to settle for a team that probably won't ever win a championship.

As of late 2024, neither Mayfield nor Cousins has reached a Super Bowl as a starter, supporting Warner's 'playoff guy' tiering.

The NFL quarterback market is broken because teams pay mid-tier QBs like superstars, preventing them from building championship rosters

It’s kinda messed up our league, I think, because it affects the ability to [win]... These teams get handcuffed paying a quarterback that's probably not that guy to carry them, and then they're stuck never becoming a championship team because they can't find that ratio [of pay to talent].

Matthew Stafford’s 'do everything' mentality from his decade in Detroit is hurting the Rams because he tries to do too much

Matthew Stafford is a really, really good quarterback... but he's been on a team where he's asked to do everything. His mentality has been, 'Matthew, you gotta make every throw for us.' If you have that mentality for 10 years... how hard is it to break that mentality? What I see with Matthew Stafford is he does a lot of really good things, but there's times where he tries to do too much, and when he tries to do too much, it's worked against them.

Stafford eventually settled in and led the Rams to a Super Bowl win later this same season.

Super Bowl Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New England Patriots

Let me go with Tampa Bay in New England. I just think it would be an unbelievable way to finish the season. And Tom got his last year and Bill has his chance with a young quarterback... I think it's possible, you know, and with the way both teams are playing, I think it's definitely possible.

The Super Bowl was Rams vs. Bengals. Neither predicted team made it.

The Chiefs defense has the advantage over the Buccaneers in the Super Bowl because of their speed

I'm going to say the Chiefs defense. ... very few defenses are going to be as fast as this Chiefs offense. ... I think the Chiefs defensive backs match up better from an athletic standpoint against these Bucs receivers. ... I give the slight advantage to the Chiefs because of complexity and because of who they're facing.

The Bucs defense was the dominant unit in the game, holding the Chiefs to 9 points and 0 touchdowns. The Chiefs defense allowed 31 points.

Marshall Faulk was both the best and most important player on the Greatest Show on Turf Rams

If there was one guy that changed the complexion of everything that we did, it was Marshall Faulk. ... he was such a distinct mismatch. ... he was, A, the best player on our team. So he was the best player, but he was also the most important.

This is an expert opinion from the team's quarterback; while subjective, it's a high-authority claim.

The current Kansas City Chiefs are the closest thing the NFL has seen to the 'Greatest Show on Turf' Rams

I would [say the Chiefs are the closest thing]. And probably the closest thing that we've seen since the greatest show on turf. And the reason I say that is just because the ability to attack down the field... they scare defenses. They make defenses play on their heels. And that's exactly how we played.

This is a subjective historical comparison from a Hall of Fame quarterback.

The Chiefs' tendency to 'get too cute' with play-calling is actually a benefit that keeps defenses off balance

I ultimately think the two cute works in their benefit way more than then it's a negative... down inside the 10 yard line, they are so great at doing special, unique, different things... that creativity is a bigger benefit than it is a negative.

The modern NFL is not full of great quarterback play despite inflated completion percentages

I still don't believe that the league is full of great quarterback play. And so you have to be able to delineate the two... there was 18 or 19 quarterbacks that were completing the ball at a rate higher than than I did the years that I led the league... numbers get inflated and it looks like teams are playing better or quarterbacks are playing better because of the rules. But when you really break down the quarterback play, it's not necessarily as good as we've seen at times in the past.

The Chiefs will beat the Buccaneers by double digits in Super Bowl 55

I am going with the Chiefs in this one. ... I will say that it will be a double-digit win for the Chiefs. ... I will put the Chiefs as mid-30s and the Bucs probably kind of mid-20s. ... 60-some, 65-point range.

The Buccaneers won by 22 points (31-9), and the total score was 40, far below the 65 Warner predicted.
