The Warriors winning another title would be a nice 'thank you' for the era of great basketball they provided

I also think like, I don't know why, but I just want the Warriors to win another title just as like a thank you to them for all the awesome basketball they've let us watch. Everyone already knows they're all time great, but having that extra title after they're all past their peak... would be nice.

The Warriors did win the 2022 NBA Finals, which was widely seen as a major legacy-booster for Curry and the core.

Mito Pereira's PGA meltdown wasn't as bad as Jean van de Velde's in 1999

He does have the fact that it's not the worst 18th hole meltdown of the history of the majors that will forever be [Jean] van de Velde, the French guy that ended up taking off his socks. I wish that Mito had tried to do that.

While subjective, Jean van de Velde's 1999 Open Championship meltdown is widely regarded as the most infamous in history.

Rory McIlroy is officially a backdoor cover guy for Top 5 finishes

I think [McIlroy] has become like a backdoor cover guy for top fives. Like he shows up on Sundays when he's out and he comes back in, but yeah. He's striking the ball well.

McIlroy has a well-documented history of final-round surges that result in high finishes but not wins in majors during this era.

I'm betting heavily on Rory McIlroy to win the 2022 Open Championship

Going to place a hefty bet on Rory in the Open Championship. It's at the Old Course this year. Yeah. Fuck it. It's Rory's home course. Let's all bet on Rory in the Open.

Rory McIlroy finished 3rd at the 2022 Open Championship at St. Andrews; Cameron Smith won.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
