Sam Darnold's playoff performance will result in a $100 million difference in his next contract

Sam Darnold was gonna be my next pick. Yeah. Because the, the difference in how much money he's going to make next year based on how he performs in the playoffs is there's probably a hundred million dollar difference. If he stinks, he could get franchise tagged... if he plays really, really well in the Playoffs now we're talking about like $150 million. Yes. 175, 200 million.

Sam Darnold signed a $100.5 million deal with the Seahawks after a strong 2024 season with the Vikings (4,319 yards, 35 TDs, Pro Bowl). The contract value was significantly influenced by his performance.

The Giants GM and coach will overspend in free agency to save their jobs in 2025

What is the GM gonna do? He's probably gonna spend as much money as he possibly can at in free agency... now you have the coach and GM in their Hot Seat years. Gonna just try to spend as much money as possible and hope that that keeps their job.

The Giants were aggressive in free agency, signing defensive backs and making trades. Brian Daboll was fired midseason after a 2-8 start, while GM Joe Schoen was retained. They did spend in free agency but the results were still bad (4-13 record).

The Giants will likely start a rookie quarterback early in the season to save their jobs

If they get Cam Ward or Shedeur or somebody like that and they wait around for four weeks into the regular season and he doesn't look great in practice, they're going to be more likely to be like, fuck it, let's just pull the emergency start rookie quarterback lever so that we can save our own job.

The Giants started rookie Jaxson Dart in Week 4, early in the season, after going 0-3 with Russell Wilson. Dart was drafted 25th overall and took over as the starter.

Mike McCarthy is a better head coaching hire than Ben Johnson because McCarthy is a proven winner

Mike McCarthy has at least proven himself as a head coach. There's been many examples of stud offensive coordinators not working on his head coaches. You have a better chance of doing [well] with Mike McCarthy than Ben Johnson. I'm not even joking about that. I'd rather take a proven winner.

This is subjective, but comparing a Super Bowl winner to an unproven coordinator is a standard football debate.

Duke would have won the National Championship by 50 points if they had reached the final.

I think if Duke plays in the championship game, they win by 50. Easily. That was a wasted opportunity.

This is a hyperbolic counterfactual that cannot be proven, making it subjective.

Michigan is already the favorite to win the National Championship again next season.

Michigan I think is right now the favorites to win next season. Tough to win back to back, but he has to hit the portal. He has to be active... which he already is.

This is a prediction for the next college basketball season.

College basketball is now 'pay to win' and that's unsustainable

It's a pay to win tournament. Like basketball is ruined. Unsustainable. Yeah, that's the new word that I keep hearing.

Subjective opinion about the direction of college sports governance.
