I blew the lead at the Masters because Blakes don't win anything

I decided to blow the lead at the Masters because Blakes don't win anything. Right? Yep. So I figured that that was my way in, unfortunately, a couple weeks before I won [the PGA], but yeah, I figured that was... Blakes haven't won anything.

Koepka famously held a lead at the 2023 Masters before losing to Jon Rahm, though his reason for doing so is obviously satirical.

The 2024 Blake of the Year will be an in-person event featuring a golf scramble

Next year we're getting everyone together... no more Zoom. And we'll figure out a way to do a in-person Blake of the Year... We'll do a five-man scramble versus Brooks.

The 2024 Blake of the Year was indeed held in person in Chicago with all three Blakes, though it was a mini-golf setup rather than a full course scramble.

Winning 'Blake of the Year' carries a performance curse for professional athletes

Everything sort of went downhill after last year's Blake of the Year. I had a rough year fellas, and I think it started with those ping pong balls. Now I can't even look at a ping pong ball without thinking of the devastating loss... This kind of begs the question: is there a Blake of the Year curse?

Griffin's numbers and role did decline significantly with the Nets following his previous win, though attributing it to a podcast award is subjective.

The 2022 'Blake of the Year' is a legitimate title despite the suspension of Brooks Koepka

I'm gonna get ahead of this... the people out there, 'cause I'm sure there'll be a few, say this is a Mickey Mouse Blake of the Year because you're only competing against Blake Bortles and this were not Blake Koepka. I remind you that I believe for the first two Blake of the Years, these are the original Blakes. So don't bring that Mickey Mouse shit to this.

The legitimacy of a podcast award is entirely subjective.
