The Charlotte Hornets will be 4-1 by the time this interview airs on Monday.

Actually, we're probably not going to have this interview until Monday, so what's your record going to be then? [Spencer Hawes]: Probably 4-1.

The Hornets beat the Nets 99-95 on Nov 4, 2016, to reach a 4-1 record.

Being ranked outside the top four in the College Football Playoff provides motivation for the Washington Huskies.

I actually think that it's going to provide us some good motivation being outside of the top four. Don't let the kids get complacent. Don't let them start reading all the headlines. Flip the script on them a little bit. Control our own destiny.

Washington finished the season 12-1, won the Pac-12, and made the College Football Playoff as the #4 seed.

Spencer Hawes is on pace to record 55 dunks this season.

I actually told Frank before the game I'm on pace for about 55 dunks.

Spencer Hawes had 13 dunks total in the 2016-17 season, significantly missing his 'pace' of 55.

The NBA isn't rigged, but the league got the 7-game series they wanted

Is the NBA rigged? No. But? Did I insinuate a but? That was not my intention. No, I think in this series, they got what they wanted. Absolutely. You know, they got, they got the seven games, but I don't, I'm not buying into that conspiracy theory.

The league's internal desires are private, making this an unprovable opinion.

The NBA is becoming 'racist' against tall players as the league trends smaller

Do you think that the NBA is becoming more racist against tall people like yourself? Yeah, I actually tweeted something about that the other night. Free the bigs. It's time that we need to band together as big guys for the sake of our species going forward.

The 'racist' claim is satirical hyperbole, but the trend toward small-ball and away from traditional bigs was a real shift in NBA strategy.

The 2018 NBA Finals will be the Charlotte Hornets vs. the Seattle SuperSonics

2018 NBA Final predictions, give us a winner as well. Hornets in five... Hornets versus Sonics. Sonics are back. Hornets in five. Book it.

The SuperSonics did not exist in 2018 and the Hornets did not make the Finals.

NBA first-round draft picks are losing their value because of the rising salary cap

Cap space isn't near as valuable as it was, first round picks aren't nearly as valuable as maybe they used to be and I think there's definitely a lot of good things within [the process] but it's kind of sad to see the state that franchise has found itself in.

The value of draft picks remains a subjective debate in NBA management, though the 2016 cap spike did briefly alter market dynamics.
