Jason Kidd is a bad coach

I don't understand what the Lakers are doing. Their obsession with Jason Kidd is very bizarre. Jason Kidd is a bad coach. He's a bad coach.

This is subjective, but Kidd went on to have a successful second stint as a head coach with the Dallas Mavericks, leading them to the 2024 NBA Finals, which complicates the 'bad coach' label.

Kawhi Leonard is a killer

Kawhi Leonard is a motherfuckin' killer. He is. He's a killer.

Kawhi Leonard went on to lead the Raptors to their first NBA championship and won Finals MVP that same season, cementing this 'killer' reputation.

Brett Brown is not the right coach for the 76ers

I don't think Brett Brown is the guy because, like I said, three shot clock violations. I think one of them might have been a block on Jimmy Butler... He did a good job with a young team bringing him along. But when you lose like they did last year and then lose this year, I feel like you have to change at least something.

Brett Brown was eventually fired in 2020 after the Sixers were swept in the first round, supporting Big Cat's view that he wasn't the guy to lead them to a title.

The mid-range jump shot still has a place in the modern NBA

Turns out Manalytics going one-on-one with a guy and hitting a step-back 14-footer still has a place in this game... The nerds, though, have been put on their heels a little bit. They're updating their stat sheets, their spreadsheets, saying, well, actually, that was actually a great shot.

While analytics still dominate, many championship teams continue to rely on star players who can score from the mid-range (Kawhi, KD, Jokic), making this a valid basketball observation.

I love the DJ Moore trade for the Bears because it clears cap space for Max Crosby or Tyler Linderbaum

I love this trade because you clear up money. [DJ Moore's] got a big pretty hefty contract so you clear up money to maybe go get a Max Crosby or a Linderbaum. You get a pick and you make the bet that Luther Burden and Rome Odunze are gonna be taking leaps forward.

The trade is real in this transcript's timeline. The outcome of the cap space usage depends on free agency results.

DJ Moore would not have had a 1,000-yard season if he stayed in the Bears' offense

He could have a thousand yards [with the Bills] and be like, wow. How, how could you trade him? He wouldn't have had a thousand yards in this Bear's offense.

Moore finished the 2023 season with 1,364 yards for the Bears, so this retrospective hypothetical is likely incorrect as he had already proven he could do it.

Malik Willis is the #1 free agent backup quarterback

Top quarterback free agents... Is it also Malik Willis? Malik Willis is, yes. So he's number one. Malik Willis one.

Willis was traded to the Packers in 2024 and performed well as a backup, but ranking him #1 over established vets is a subjective value judgment.
