Calvin Ridley is on a mission and is going to 'ball' this year

Calvin Ridley is going ball. That's a man on a mission. And some corners are gonna have to deal with that man being on a mission.

Ridley had a solid season with 1,016 yards and 8 touchdowns, but it wasn't a dominant 'man on a mission' year that carried the Jaguars deep into the playoffs.

The unluckiness of the New York Jets is unrivaled in professional sports

The power of the unluckiness of the New York Jets is unrivaled in professional sports. I feel bad for Mike Greenberg... but if I'm in the trust tree, it was also kind of funny... that they had six months where it's like we finally solved our quarterback situation... and then four plays in, it's like, well, we're fucked again.

The Jets losing Rodgers after 4 snaps following a massive offseason hype cycle is historically bad luck.

Announcers need to stop saying 'asterisk' on wins

I don't know why it's become a thing that announcers are now saying asterisk. They did it for the Lions game too. Tarico did the asterisk for No Kelsey, Chris Jones. And then last night they're like, well, asterisk there was tripping on the part return. Who the fuck cares. The Wind's a win.

This is a subjective opinion on broadcasting style, though factually true that announcers like Mike Tirico used the word.

Josh Allen is still a much better quarterback than Dak Prescott

As far as I'm concerned, Josh Allen's still much better quarterback than Dak Prescott. Dak had a better week one. Yes... but you saw something different [last night].

This remains a debated topic, though Allen generally ranks higher in elite QB discussions despite the turnover issues.

The Dolphins' struggles in cold weather are more about their opponents being good than the elements

Green Bay isn't a cakewalk. Buffalo bills aren't a cakewalk. To blame everything on the cold weather to say the cold weather has these guys not playing, man, miss tackles happen in the heat... Sometimes the end result gets you get distracted because of the way someone articulates it that you disregard the actual content.

Super Bowl Pick: Lions vs. Chiefs or Eagles vs. Bills

Let's go with Detroit-Kansas City. Or Philly and Buffalo.

Steve Smith's picks were Detroit-KC or Philly-Buffalo. The actual Super Bowl was Eagles vs. Chiefs. The Eagles-Chiefs matchup was close to his second option (he had Eagles and Bills, not Eagles and Chiefs), and neither of his exact matchups was correct, but he had the Eagles right in one and the Chiefs right in the other.

The Seahawks' secondary is extremely dangerous and overlooked

Seattle Seahawks, if they can get a pass rush generated, I think they're gonna be pretty good. Their secondary is bananas, bro. I'm talking about Their secondary is very dangerous. Woolen is, he's not getting a lot of credit. But that young man... I think he's gonna lock down some receivers this year.

The Seahawks' secondary was solid but the team finished with a middle-of-the-pack pass defense in 2023 and missed the playoffs.
