Athletes shouldn't retire just because they aren't at an MVP level anymore; as long as they love competing, they should keep playing.

If you're still doing what you love, and I'll tell you from our perspective, only fans can put expectations on you... My son gets to come to the game and watch me and I get to play in front of 30,000 people. You should never be sad. Be happy about the moments that you have and then enjoy what you can have moving forward.

This is a personal philosophy on career longevity.

Thursday Night Football is where real football gets played.

I'm saying suck it because we have long said Thursday night football is where real football gets played. You might get the Bengals and the Texans scoring no touchdowns, but you also might get a Brian Hoyer and Jared Goff shootout.

This is an ironic brand position for the show.

You are a fake fan if you don't watch Thursday Night Football because of a 'bad' matchup

If you're the kind of fan that doesn't watch Thursday Night Football because you've got work tomorrow morning or it's between two of the worst teams of the past 25 years or some other excuse like that, guess what? You're a fake fan. Fake. Fraud. Shame.

Sean McVay is an elite coach who has turned Jared Goff into a monster

Sean McVay... I'll tell you what, that guy can fucking coach. Because he had play calls that were like, every now and then he'd sprinkle one play in and be like, whoa, that was really nicely designed. And what he's done with Jared Goff... Sean McVay has molded him into a monster.

Sean McVay became one of the best coaches in the NFL, winning a Super Bowl and consistently having top offenses. Goff flourished under him before being traded to Detroit.

Grant Williams is the key X-factor for the Celtics if the Warriors go small

I would say the two people... I mentioned Grant Williams, I think Grant Williams... he's going to be key because the Warriors just force everyone to play small... If he plays well, like he did in the Milwaukee series where he hit eight threes, 93, whatever it was, then, you know, Boston's going to be a problem.

Grant Williams struggled for much of the Finals, averaging only 5.2 points per game and losing minutes as the series progressed.

Brad Stevens moved to the front office because he knew the Celtics needed a different voice to reach the next level

I want somebody that I believe can take these guys to the next level. ... It doesn't mean that Brad couldn't win a championship as an NBA head coach. ... It just means that this, he just wanted to be in a, in a different space. So he, but he's still there in a day to day.

This is a subjective interpretation of front-office dynamics, though the results (Celtics reaching the Finals) support the move's efficacy.

Milwaukee would have won the East and reached the Finals if Khris Middleton was healthy

I think that Milwaukee was the best team this year. If they would have had Middleton, they'd be in final right now.

While logically sound given the 7-game series, it's ultimately an unprovable hypothetical.
