Baseball unwritten rules dictate that if a team hits your best player, you must hit theirs in return

My favorite [unwritten rule] is just if the team drills your best player, you gotta drill the other guys, the other team's best player.

This is a subjective take on sports etiquette and unofficial rules.

The college basketball chaos on Saturday was triggered by Fran McCaffrey's stare down with the referee

I think Saturday we got the chaos all because of Fran McCaffrey's stare down. It was from that point on the day, just went off the fucking rails. There's nothing like a good old fashioned coach just staring at a referee so close and neither one of them was gonna walk away.

While nine ranked teams did lose that day, attributing it to a stare down is inherently subjective and comedic.

MLB pitch velocity will decrease by 0.02 mph this year due to the new shot clock rules

This guy Corky knows his shit. He is projecting right now an average decrease in pitch velocity this year of 0.02 miles per hour. Whoa. Because the new shot clock rules. So yeah, keep that in the back pocket. We're gonna see slower fastballs this year.

MLB average fastball velocity actually slightly increased in 2023 to 94.1 mph from 93.9 mph, contradicting the prediction.

Keith Hernandez has toxoplasmosis from his cat, which is why he's messing up player names

Keith Hernandez has toxoplasmosis from living with his cat. Oh. That's why he's messing up names. But I mean, is it really a mess up? Because Chaz Chisholm [Jazz Chisholm] is just a Hall of fame name.

This is a satirical medical claim about a sports broadcaster.

The Ravens are using a physical loophole to back out of the Maxx Crosby trade

I'm calling bullshit on all this. It does feel like something's fishy here. And maybe it's just the Ravens using the loophole of, hey, we can see, we can trade for Maxx Crosby, see how the rest of free agency plays out, knowing that this stupid legal tampering and then official free agency, there's a two day gap and then just figure it out later.

The trade was literally rescinded, but the 'nefarious loophole' theory is a subjective interpretation of front office tactics.

The NFL needs a 'no-backsies' rule for players who post elaborate social media goodbye videos

If you post a 13 minute goodbye video on social media like Maxx Crosby did, that should just be trade final. You can't come back on that... I actually am rooting for Maxx Crosby to be on the Raiders now because that will be so awkward and funny.

This is a humorous rule proposal, not a verifiable prediction.

The Panthers were right to overpay for Jaelan Phillips

The Panthers getting Jaelan Phillips, even though it was a lot of money, I feel like you gotta do it. Cap went up and I feel like you have to do those type of moves, especially when you are a playoff team from last year. Your defense was a problem... I'd be like, oh, Howie's interested? I'll give him more money.

The success of the Panthers' defense with Phillips will determine if the overpay was justified.
