The Patriots will run a Navy-style triple-option offense with Cam Newton to prove Bill Belichick is a genius

I have a feeling that they're just going to become like the Navy offense. Getting Trent Brown back and then being like, let's run with Cam Newton. I wouldn't be shocked if Belichick was like, I'm going to prove how much of a genius I am. We're bringing back the triple option. We're going to run the ball 60 times in the game.

The Patriots drafted Mac Jones and ran a traditional offense; Cam Newton was released before the season began.

Coaches need to stop calling isolation plays and start calling real sets at the ends of games

I'm just stating facts in the interest of fairness, Big Cat. Coaches need to call actual plays at the ends of games. They need to stop with the ISO, and then the guy has the ball, dribbles it three times between his legs, and then shoots from 25 feet because Steph Curry ruined basketball.

The prevalence of isolation plays at the end of college basketball games remains a major point of criticism for analysts and fans alike.

Georgetown is not 'back' just because they won four games in the Big East tournament

The love affair with Patrick Ewing was disgusting this weekend. He got hot against a really bad Marquette team, a Nova team that basically is all injured... this idea that he's building something and this is the culmination. They had a good week. They had a good four games... I'm going to bet against Georgetown in the world.

Georgetown lost their first-round tournament game to Colorado by 23 points (96-73). Patrick Ewing was eventually fired in 2023 after several abysmal seasons following this run.

Michigan State will be a good bet in the tournament because there are no expectations on them

I think I am going to bet on Michigan State this year. I think something about Izzo. January, February, Izzo, April, we sleep in May. There's no expectations on Michigan State this year, except maybe to win that first game.

Michigan State lost their First Four game to UCLA (the eventual Final Four team) in overtime.

Kevin Willard's joke about firing his staff was funny and shouldn't have been taken seriously

It was such a clear joke and people, I couldn't believe... There were people who actually thought he was being serious. I thought it was a funny joke. And then we had the people trying to cover for themselves being like, well, even if it was a joke, that's not a joke you make. Imagine if you're an assistant and you hear your boss say that.

Whether a joke is funny or appropriate is subjective.

The lack of Cinderellas in the tournament isn't due to NIL but because big teams are more efficient and physical

Todd Golden had a very good point... part of the reason why there's less upsets is teams are just getting way more efficient in scoring at the rim and becoming almost like raising their floor and becoming upset proof in the fact that you get really big dudes... and absolutely hammer the boards. And when you do that against smaller schools, you're not gonna like, how do big schools lose the small schools is like three point variance.

This is an analytical opinion on sports trends that can't be definitively proven right or wrong.

The Sweet 16 in Houston won't be a home game for the Cougars because Iowa and Nebraska fans travel too well

Illinois, Nebraska and Iowa have some pretty big fan bases that are all gonna wanna travel, especially Nebraska... I don't think it's gonna be like they're gonna take over the place, but I don't think it's gonna be 80% Houston at this game.

The attendance split of the Sweet 16 regional in Houston will determine this.
