Willie Fritz at Houston is the blueprint for the next 'Curt Cignetti' hire

If you're looking for the Curt Cignetti profile—guy in his sixties who's coached at all these different levels and won—it's actually Willie Fritz at Houston. He is 65 and has won at Sam Houston State and Georgia Southern and Tulane. That he's the model for that.

Shohei Ohtani might be the best athlete we will ever see in any sport

[Shohei Ohtani] is getting into the territory of one, he's somehow underpaid. Two, he might be the best athlete we ever watch, play any sport. It's getting into the Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Muhammad Ali, these territories where in 50 years you could see yourself saying, remember when we got to watch Shohei Ohtani.

Subjective comparison of athletes across eras and sports.

Brad Paisley is the Scott Foster of Major League Baseball because he is an 'extender' who sings the anthem before extra-inning games

I'm not a big Brad Paisley fan, but maybe I should be. He's the extender. He's like Scott Foster for Major League Baseball. [Every game he sings the national anthem before] went to extra innings. Game two in 2017 went 11, game three in 2018 went 18, game one in 2024 went 10, and this game went 18. Brad Paisley [sang] the national anthem before all those games.

The take is based on a humorous observation of extra-inning outcomes and is inherently subjective.

Dodger Stadium has a very cool vintage 1970s aura

I don't know, I was seeing some people say that there's a lack of aura in Los Angeles... at least just from personal experience, we went to that stadium. That stadium has Aura. Yeah. That stadium is cool as fuck. It's the worst place to get in and out of. But when you're in there, it has like a very cool vintage seventies type vibe.

Subjective opinion on stadium atmosphere.

Indiana is the favorite to win the national championship among the remaining four teams

I think you'd have to call Indiana the favorite. I mean, they, they've been the most consistent all year long. They've played the best in the biggest games all year long. And that goes back to, to when they went to Eugene and beat Oregon.

Indiana was the favorite and won the national championship 27-21 over Miami, completing a 16-0 season.

Oregon's Kenyon Sadiq is a unique weapon with no equal in college football

Kenyon Sadiq, their tight end. There's nobody like Kenyon Sadiq in the whole country. He's, you know, 240 pounds, but runs like a, a really fast corner.

This is a subjective evaluation of a player's physical uniqueness and talent compared to his peers.

The winner of Oregon vs. Indiana will be the favorite to win the national championship

Whoever wins this game is gonna be favored in the national championship. I think it's, yeah, it's fair to point out that while Indiana looks super impressive... Oregon appears to be a much more formidable opponent.

Andy Staples predicted the winner of Oregon vs. Indiana in the CFP semifinal would be favored in the national championship. Indiana routed Oregon 56-22 and then entered the national championship as the #1 seed and favorite against #10 Miami, which they won 27-21.
