The Mavericks should be favored as the primary threat to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the West next season

Should the Mavericks be favored to be the team that gives Oklahoma City a run for its money out of the West next season? Think about it. It seems like they're the next one up.

Will be determined by the 2025-26 NBA season results.

Cooper Flagg could make close to a billion dollars in the NBA by age 32

If everything goes well for [Cooper Flagg] and he signs all of his extensions and everything... he could make close to a billion dollars in the NBA by age 32. He has a $62 million rookie deal... then he'd get the 30% supermax, which would be $359 million. And then he would get the 35% supermax, which would be $509 million.

This is a long-term prediction dependent on the NBA salary cap increasing and Flagg performing at a Supermax level.

The Pelicans' trade from pick 23 to 13 was the worst trade ever

Pelicans. Oh boy. Yep. That was the worst trade ever. They traded from 23 up to 13 and they gave away their unprotected first round pick next year. Actually worse than that. They have the Bucks pick as well. Whichever one is better, is higher. And if the Bucks trade Giannis, that could literally just be two shots at getting the one pick... I don't know what Joe Dumars was thinking. It's a fleecing.

The 'worst ever' claim is a subjective evaluation of a trade's value.

Connor Hellebuyck is the best goalie in the world

Connor Hellebuyck just saying, 'Hey boys, hop on my back. I got this for you. Just jump on in and ride me to this fucking gold medal.' It's incredible. We had the best goalie in the world and our defense is way better than Canada... I don't care if he gave up 50 goals before that game, the way he played that game, he should have won MVP.

Hellebuyck's status as the best is subjective, but his 41-save performance in the Gold Medal game is a factual anchor for the claim.

The US won the gold because they chose to stay in the Olympic Village while Canada stayed at a Four Seasons

Those guys went over to Milan on their PJs and absolutely lit it up... They didn't go stay at a Four Seasons like the Canadians did. They stayed in the village because we're village people. We go in there and we muck it up. You might not get the best food, but you're gonna have the best plane ride home smashing beers over your head.

A subjective cultural assessment of team success.

The 2026 Gold Medal will grow US hockey by bringing in kids from non-traditional states

The 1980 Olympic gold medal meant so much for guys like me... This game right now, what it can mean for a sport. You're going to get kids from different cultures, different backgrounds playing hockey that never did. It was 12 states represented [on this team]. The 1980 teams was probably strictly Michigan, Minnesota and Massachusetts. This effect is going to take us even further.

The long-term impact on registration numbers and NHL draft picks from non-traditional states will take years to verify.
