The NFC North power ranking for deep playoff run confidence: Lions, Packers, Vikings, Bears.

How would you power rank the NFC North right now in terms of confidence to go deep in the playoffs? I think the Bears have the longest shot. I'm not fooling myself here. I would say Lions number one, then Packers number two, then Vikings number three.

Big Cat ranked NFC North playoff confidence: Lions #1, Packers #2, Vikings #3, Bears #4. The 2024 standings were Lions (15-2, #1 seed), Vikings (14-3, lost Wild Card), Packers (11-6, lost Wild Card), Bears (5-12, last). Lions at #1 was right, but Vikings outperformed Packers, flipping the #2/#3 prediction.

Brian Thomas Jr. might be the best rookie wide receiver in the NFL.

Brian Thomas might be the best rookie wide receiver now that Malik Nabers missed a couple games. Marvin Harrison is like, either he scores three touchdowns or doesn't catch a ball. Brian Thomas is the real deal looking awesome.

Brian Thomas Jr. finished with a very strong rookie campaign, though Nabers and Harrison Jr. also had elite stretches. It remains a high-level debate.

Tank Bigsby has one of the coolest names in the NFL.

Tank Bigsby deserves more credit for being one of the coolest names in the NFL... His real name is Cartus. Cartus is pretty solid... Cartus Bigsby. He is Cardi B.

Subjective opinion on name quality.

Jared Goff is a legitimate MVP candidate at +850 odds.

Jared Goff plus 850 on DraftKings Sportsbook for MVP. Just saying that... the last two guys who have had a three-game streak of 140 plus passer rating was Aaron Rodgers in 2011 when he won an MVP and Kurt Warner in 1999 when he won an MVP.

Goff remained in the conversation deep into the season, though Lamar Jackson emerged as the heavy favorite.

I love the DJ Moore trade for the Bears because it clears cap space for Max Crosby or Tyler Linderbaum

I love this trade because you clear up money. [DJ Moore's] got a big pretty hefty contract so you clear up money to maybe go get a Max Crosby or a Linderbaum. You get a pick and you make the bet that Luther Burden and Rome Odunze are gonna be taking leaps forward.

The trade is real in this transcript's timeline. The outcome of the cap space usage depends on free agency results.

DJ Moore would not have had a 1,000-yard season if he stayed in the Bears' offense

He could have a thousand yards [with the Bills] and be like, wow. How, how could you trade him? He wouldn't have had a thousand yards in this Bear's offense.

Moore finished the 2023 season with 1,364 yards for the Bears, so this retrospective hypothetical is likely incorrect as he had already proven he could do it.

Malik Willis is the #1 free agent backup quarterback

Top quarterback free agents... Is it also Malik Willis? Malik Willis is, yes. So he's number one. Malik Willis one.

Willis was traded to the Packers in 2024 and performed well as a backup, but ranking him #1 over established vets is a subjective value judgment.
