Zion Williamson chose Duke over Kansas solely for the free education

Zion... decided not to go to Kansas for said money or whatever occupational preferences... and instead decided he wanted to go get an education for free at Duke University... Can't a young person just change their mind and say, I'd rather not have money? I'd rather play for Coach K.

Fact ClaimCBBHotSarcastic
The literal claim is that he chose Duke for the education; the reality of high-level CBB recruiting makes this almost certainly false in the context of the FBI investigation details.

America is sick of Aaron Rodgers winning games in predictable, dramatic fashion

He will win a game late, and he will do it in dramatic fashion, and he will drop dimes and all that. I'm sick of it. I think America is sick of it, to be honest, if I'm just going to speak for America here.

This is subjective, but Rodgers' style of late-game heroics continued to be a major NFL storyline for years, though 'America' was likely more entertained than sick of it.

Jason Witten was hired by ESPN solely to mend the relationship between the network and NFL owners

Jason Witten is in place to mend the ESPN-NFL relationship, which makes sense... they put him in there, and it doesn't really matter if he's bad for the audience. It just matters that the rest of the owners and Roger Goodell likes him.

While Witten's hire was widely criticized for his lack of experience, the specific 'mending relationships' motive is a matter of corporate strategy that hasn't been officially confirmed but remains a strong industry theory.

The NFL referees are being bullied by the internet into not calling the game by the rules

The refs are getting bullied by the blogosphere and the twittersphere into not calling the game by the rules. I would have liked to see [Clay Matthews] get penalized for that [hit on C.J. Beathard].

Whether refs are 'bullied' by social media is inherently subjective.

The Ravens are using a physical loophole to back out of the Maxx Crosby trade

I'm calling bullshit on all this. It does feel like something's fishy here. And maybe it's just the Ravens using the loophole of, hey, we can see, we can trade for Maxx Crosby, see how the rest of free agency plays out, knowing that this stupid legal tampering and then official free agency, there's a two day gap and then just figure it out later.

The trade was literally rescinded, but the 'nefarious loophole' theory is a subjective interpretation of front office tactics.

The NFL needs a 'no-backsies' rule for players who post elaborate social media goodbye videos

If you post a 13 minute goodbye video on social media like Maxx Crosby did, that should just be trade final. You can't come back on that... I actually am rooting for Maxx Crosby to be on the Raiders now because that will be so awkward and funny.

This is a humorous rule proposal, not a verifiable prediction.

The Panthers were right to overpay for Jaelan Phillips

The Panthers getting Jaelan Phillips, even though it was a lot of money, I feel like you gotta do it. Cap went up and I feel like you have to do those type of moves, especially when you are a playoff team from last year. Your defense was a problem... I'd be like, oh, Howie's interested? I'll give him more money.

The success of the Panthers' defense with Phillips will determine if the overpay was justified.
