I side with Mets manager Mickey Callaway for trying to fight a reporter who made a passive-aggressive comment

I actually kind of side with Mickey Callaway here... the Newsday reporter said 'see you tomorrow,' which is the classic like 'oh half day move' that the asshole in the office pulls when you're taking it off early. You're being an ironic asshole. I think that would piss me off. I have Mickey Callaway's back there.

Mickey Callaway was later fired by the Mets at the end of the 2019 season following various issues, but the 'correctness' of siding with him is subjective.

The NBA holding their awards show in late June is a stupid move

I don't want a fucking award show on a random Monday in June. Mentally, we do as fans [care about the postseason results]. I'm thinking, of course James Harden didn't win it because the Rockets flamed out again. It's so stupid that they do it this way. They should just do it right before the playoffs.

The NBA eventually moved away from the separate awards show format in 2021 due to low interest and the timing issues Big Cat mentioned.

The Houston Rockets are in hilarious denial about the James Harden and Chris Paul dysfunction

The Rockets stuff is so funny to me... Chris Paul also had a quote that was essentially the 'I'm not owned' [tweet]. He said, 'I never asked for a trade. I never demanded a trade. I'll be in Houston. I'm happy about that.' You guys thinking that me, Chris Paul, notorious tough person to play with, is not vibing with James Harden, also notorious tough person to play with—that's funny to me, guys. I'm laughing here. This is so funny.

Reports of dysfunction were widespread and Chris Paul was eventually traded to the Thunder later that summer (July 2019) in exchange for Russell Westbrook, confirming the partnership was over.

Doc Rivers appeared to be a better coach when Austin Rivers was on his team because coaching a bad player makes you look like a genius

Doc Rivers appeared to be a better coach when he had his son on the team because his son was such a shithead that if you could squeeze a little bit of blood out of Austin Rivers, then you looked like a fucking genius. [Big Cat: You should not have gotten rid of one of your worst players.]

This is a subjective theory on coaching perception in the NBA.

American sports dominance is officially over

Are we as a country washed? because this also is on the heels of shams announcing SGA back to back MVP and I think it's been like nine years, I believe eight years since an American has won the NBA MVP... and Aaron Rai, it's the second European to win a major this year and Europeans are now two and oh in majors for the first time since 1934.

While hyperbolically stated, the fact that international players have dominated NBA MVPs (Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, SGA) for nearly a decade is factual.

The Steelers will be stuck with a 7-10 win ceiling with Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is back. I feel bad for Steelers fans... he's not the same quarterback... the Steelers just put a finite floor and ceiling on their season. Right? And it's somewhere between seven and 10 wins. That's what we're thinking.

Outcome depends on the 2026 NFL season results for the Steelers.

The Chicago White Sox are no longer a joke and could win the AL Central

White Sox are good. They're actually like, this is finally like, it's kind of, they're not a joke. They've got some sluggers. Big time dude... I don't know what the price is for them winning the AL Central, but they, they, they are not a bad team.

White Sox performance in the 2026 MLB season is ongoing.
