The 2024-25 Dallas Mavericks are having one of the worst sports seasons of all time relative to expectations

Given all the context though, I think this has to be one of the worst seasons of all time. And I know that people will be like, well, that's reactionary. But I'm just saying the context of finals run last year, like future seems super bright... everything fell apart.

The Mavericks indeed finished with a disappointing record and missed expectations after their Finals run.

Anthony Davis's return to the Mavericks will be cut short by another injury almost immediately

I'll tell you what's gonna happen if they decide for [Anthony Davis] to come back, he's gonna have like a hamstring strain. Yeah. In game one. It's gonna be planned out like the Bay of Pigs and then it's gonna be over just as fast.

The Mavericks season ended with early elimination/injury issues as predicted.

LeBron James is potentially a better father than he is a basketball player

I think you could actually make the case that LeBron James, he is top two basketball player of all time. He might be a better dad than basketball player... The fact that he got his son [Bronny] drafted. He might actually be one of the best dads that it's like him and God.

Parenting quality is inherently subjective.

Paying an elite running back is a better investment than paying a mediocre quarterback

It is better to pay [Saquon Barkley] that much money than it is to pay a quarterback who's not very good a lot of money. Correct. A Daniel Jones, if you would.

This is a subjective debate about roster construction and positional value.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
