The Kyrie Irving trade raises the Mavericks' ceiling but makes their floor 'lava'

This trade to the Mavericks raises their ceiling but makes the floor lava. And that's perfect... In a world where this all works out, you now added like... a walking bucket.

The Mavericks finished 11th in the West, missing the postseason, which arguably hit the 'lava' floor in the immediate aftermath.

Kirk Cousins' Pro Bowl victory proves he can win big games

Kirk Cousins leads NFC to a comeback. So there you go. All the haters that say Kirk Cousins can't win a big game. He just won the Pro Bowl Flag Football challenge.

Literally correct that he won the flag football game, but the take is entirely ironic.

Kyrie Irving to the Mavericks is a good move because there's only half a season for his 'team cancer' to spread

I think it's a good move for the Mavericks because he only has half a season for his team cancer to spread. So this is like a good window for Kyrie... it's hard to destroy a brand new team in like four months.

The Mavs actually missed the playoffs and even the play-in tournament entirely in 2023 after the trade, so it did not work out well in the short term.

The Mavericks will win their first-round series but then Kyrie Irving will eventually cause the team to flame out

I think the Mavs will probably, like, they'll torch some team in the first round and everyone will say, look at this, this is real. And then either Kyrie [Irving] will get hurt or decide not to show up or something will happen and they won't win a title... there's just no way that this is gonna end [well].

The Mavericks missed the playoffs entirely in 2023, so they didn't even get the first-round 'torch' job Big Cat predicted.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
