The Panthers will be a competent team this season

I love the Panthers in this game just because I, it's my, my rule of you're never as bad as you were the last year... I don't think the Panthers are [bad]... I think they're gonna be competent.

The Panthers finished with the worst record in the NFL, Bryce Young was benched for poor play, and the team was widely considered incompetent for the duration of the season.

Xavier Worthy is going to be a problem for everybody

Well, that's the thing is they've got [the Chiefs] got a guy that's gonna be a problem for everybody. I'm gonna, and we said it on draft night, we were like, how did the bills let this happen?

Worthy had a productive rookie season with multiple touchdowns, proving to be a significant deep threat for the Super Bowl-winning Chiefs.

The NFL refs set such a strong tone with illegal formation calls in the opener that they won't need to call it again all weekend

This was a secret point of emphasis to call illegal formation. And now I don't even think that the refs are gonna have to call it for the rest of week one... they set such a tone calling the illegal formation that I don't think they're gonna have to call it down the line.

While the flurry of calls in the Ravens-Chiefs game was an outlier, officials did continue to monitor the alignment throughout the weekend, though not with the same volume of flags.

Justin Tucker might be washed

Justin Tucker might be washed. Yeah. Can't hit 50 yarders anymore.

Tucker had a statistically poor 2024 season by his standards, missing several field goals from 50+ yards, supporting the 'washed' narrative.

Michigan was definitively the better team in the National Championship and it never felt like UConn was in danger of winning.

Michigan was the better team. We all saw it. It never felt like [the game] was in danger. Like the only moment that I was like, oh, UConn might have a chance, was when there was like maybe five and a half minutes left and Mullens missed that three to cut it to four.

The episode presents Michigan winning the 2026 National Championship as a fact within the show's timeline.

Michigan was the best team all year — outside of Duke, who would have won the championship by a lot

They were the best team. They were the best team all year outside of Duke. 'Cause that actually was my other big takeaway — Duke just completely, Duke beat this Michigan team a month and a half ago.

Subjective comparison of team quality. Duke did beat Michigan during the regular season in 2025-26.

Danny Hurley is 18-1 against the spread in his last four NCAA tournaments, which is insane

Danny Hurley remains 18 and one in the last four tournaments against the spread. How insane is that? Furman is the only one that they didn't cover. That was the first round this year.

This is a factual claim about Hurley's ATS record over the last four NCAA tournaments. Based on UConn's remarkable tournament run, this is plausible and presented as a known stat. Cannot fully verify exact record but the claim is stated as fact.
