Championship spread offenses still need to run the ball

The people that were winning championships but also had a spread, fun offense, they were rushing the ball for about 150, 170. So we were about a hundred yards off that mark. I just adopted that mentality and knew that was something that was going to be important to us.

This is a coaching philosophy based on Morris's analysis of championship offenses, not a claim with a single definitive verdict.

The Chiefs' window never closed

I don't think we ever actually closed the Chiefs' window. I think Mahomes was just in bed because he was injured, far away from the window.

The Chiefs' long-term contention status is ultimately subjective, though their dynasty remained active at the time of the episode.

The Chargers' game against the Raiders is a must-win

The Chargers might have the most must-win game of all time playing the Raiders with the schedule they have. If they don't win this week, it's over.

The Chargers' season outcome and whether the loss effectively ended their season had not been resolved at the time of the episode.

Oklahoma State physically dominated Oregon at the line

We physically dominated that game at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

The statement is a coach's characterization of the game and can be evaluated through the teams' rushing, blocking, and defensive line performance; the episode transcript itself describes Oklahoma State's dominance in those areas.
