Andy Dalton is a better quarterback than Jimmy Garoppolo

I was going to say Andy Dalton greater than Jimmy G... If [the Patriots] had Andy Dalton, they probably would be winning as well. [He is] better than Jimmy G.

Dalton and Garoppolo's careers both trended toward high-end backup/bridge starter status after this, making it a very debatable subjective comparison.

I am in on the proposed 14-team MLB playoff format

I personally, it's crazy. It's stupid. And I know baseball purists will hate it. But from a fundamental level of making September more enjoyable, making a lot of markets still feel like they have a shot, having just more playoff baseball... and eliminating the one game playoff that always kind of feels like it screws someone over. I'm kind of in on this.

The MLB eventually expanded the playoffs to 12 teams (6 per league) in 2022, a variation of the 14-team proposal discussed here.

I am officially all in on participation trophies

As soon as I became a dad, my son got a gold medal for just showing up to gym... I was like, fuck yeah, you got that, dude. You fucking showed up. So I'm all in on participation trophies. That flipped in my brain.

Subjective opinion on a cultural parenting debate.

Philip Rivers' skills are vastly diminishing

[Philip Rivers and the Chargers] both decided that Philip Rivers' skills are vastly diminishing and we needed to move on.

Rivers had a down year in 2019 with 20 interceptions and only 23 touchdowns, and while he had one solid final season with the Colts, the assessment of his decline at that stage was largely accurate.

Tom Brady helping Mike Macdonald prepare for the Patriots would be a huge slap in the face to the New England region.

That would be egregious if that was true. I don't believe it is true. But if it were, that would be unforgivable. Not unforgivable. That would be a, a blemish, a big blemish. Big time. It'd be a slap in the face of the whole region.

Subjective opinion on how a hypothetical rumor would be perceived.

Jayson Tatum is playing cute by claiming he found out about the Jaylen Brown trade on social media.

I'm sure he knew that he was on the trading block and he didn't know specifically when he got traded and he found out just like everyone else... all Brad Stevens, Jaylen Brown, they talked about how, you know, he was gonna be on the trading block and they were gonna try and move him. So I'm sure Jayson Tatum was also aware of that. But in terms of, he's probably playing a little, a little cutesy there where like no one specifically told him, 'Hey, this is the trade.' He found out like everyone else. But I'm sure he was not surprised and fully aware what the plan was.

Subjective interpretation of Tatum's PR framing.

The Celtics have another major move coming following the Jaylen Brown trade

There's something going on here. I I said it to Max on the boat yesterday. I was like, Jalen Brown was getting traded. I could, I could just feel it. I could feel it coming... I feel like the Paul George thing is, there's the, like, they might be doing another trade. There's another move coming.

The trade just happened in the fictional 2026 timeline provided; further moves are pending.
