Mike Leach's best quality as a head coach was that he didn't care what anybody thought about his coaching hires
I thought he was an elite at hiring people... And the best quality he had in hiring people is he didn't give a damn what anybody thought about who he hired. And it's amazing how many people just wanna win a press conference, right? Just wanna hire a big name to justify this. ... He's hiring people that, and all the Texas Tech people, like, what are you doing? ... But like, he didn't care. Like, he just like, 'I know these people get the job done. That's what I'm doing.' And you look at his tree now... I think it made it more like one of the best hires of people probably in college football history.

The Buccaneers are on 'bummer watch' because their players want to leave specifically because of head coach Todd Bowles

It has nothing to do with the players on the field. It has to do with Todd Bowles. ... The Bucks might be a bummer team. They might be on bummer watch.

I'll just say this right now. Steph Curry, if you're listening... If you go to the Thunder or Spurs, we will not call that ring chasing. We will call that we get to watch more competitive Steph Curry basketball. And that's awesome.

View profileBaker Mayfield is a rare quarterback who actually plays much better when he is hyper-focused on hating the opponent
Most guys, you try to get them and write the right mindset or mental kind of mental frame of playing their best. Right? Most guys it's like, hey, don't focus on anything else, just play, don't worry about the outside noise. Baker's the few guys I've coached, complete opposite. He is way better when there is something on the other side that he's competing against that he hates. ... He has a unique ability to get himself like to the highest point of just juiced up, but then able to process and function at a high level.
