I would never bet against Sean McVay in the playoffs

I think the Vikings should win, but I also think that Sean McVay and that's the end of that sentence. I just think Sean McVay, I would not bet against him in the playoffs.

Rams won their 2024 Wild Card game 27-9 vs Vikings before losing to Eagles in Divisional Round. McVay's playoff track record remained strong.

The Houston Texans' defense won them the Wild Card game against the Chargers

That Texans defense, holy shit, did they bring it on Saturday? They were so goddamn good. And not only were they so good, I thought that game was decided by the fact that the Chargers came out like basically a perfect start... if the Texans defense doesn't play their balls off to start the game... that game could look totally different.

The Texans beat the Chargers 32-12, largely on the back of defensive dominance and forcing turnovers.

The Chargers' offense over-relied on Lad McConkey

I think the Chargers ran into an acute case of building their entire offense out of Lad McConkey. Lad McConkey had 197 yards. The other wide receivers had 45... They just couldn't do anything that wasn't Lad McConkey.

Verified by the box score; McConkey was indeed the vast majority of the Chargers' passing production.

I'm buying all the Justin Herbert stock right now

I'll say this right now, and this isn't me defending Justin Herbert because he was terrible on Saturday. I will buy all the Justin Herbert stock right now... If you think that he's just like a terrible quarterback, that's fine. I still think he's pretty good.

Herbert is widely considered a top talent despite the poor playoff showing.

The Chiefs' window never closed

I don't think we ever actually closed the Chiefs' window. I think Mahomes was just in bed because he was injured, far away from the window.

The Chiefs' long-term contention status is ultimately subjective, though their dynasty remained active at the time of the episode.

Mahomes will be back to himself by season's end

By the end of this season, Mahomes is gonna be back to being Mahomes.

Whether Mahomes returned to his established level by the end of the 2026 NFL season had not yet been resolved.

The Oregon loss could turn Dan Lanning into a psychopath

I don't think that Dan Lanning has slept since that loss. I think Dan Lanning has turned into an absolute psycho because of this loss. He's sick. It actually might be a dangerous thing for the rest of the Big Ten that Oregon lost that game.

Whether the loss made Oregon more dangerous over the rest of the season is a future, testable team-performance claim.
