Kansas not being ranked in the Top 25 is a travesty based on 'helmet rankings'

Kansas not being ranked is a travesty as well. That is stupid. It's just that's a total helmet ranking. Yes. If they were any, like if Kansas were USC with the same resume, they'd be like three in the country.

Kansas eventually did enter the rankings later that season for the first time since 2009.

Daniel Jones has the worst internal clock of any quarterback in NFL history

Being able to actually focus on one game, it reminded me that Daniel Jones has the worst internal clock of any quarterback I've ever seen in my life. He's like just like 10 minutes either ahead or 10 minutes behind. But he is never on schedule.

While subjective, Daniel Jones' struggles with pocket presence and timing were a defining characteristic of his early career with the Giants.

Dan Quinn is a really fucking good defensive coach. He's gonna be a head coach again. I'm gonna call right out. Dan Quinn will be a head coach again and he's gonna go like eight and eight, then he's gonna go five and 11. Then he is gonna go five 11 again, get fired. Then he's gonna go somewhere, went to a Super Bowl and be the best coordinator in the league again.

Dan Quinn went 12-5 and reached the NFC Championship in Year 1 as Commanders HC, then 5-12 in Year 2. He's still the HC — hasn't failed and returned to DC work.

Cooper Rush has played himself into a lucrative contract as a competent NFL backup

Cooper Rush three and O is a starter. Looked like Cooper Rush has now made himself a lot of money because he does, he's, he doesn't look incredible, but he looks more than competent as a backup... the ball kind of jumps off his hand sometimes... he's made himself a lot of money as a backup.

Cooper Rush signed a 2-year, $5 million contract with the Cowboys in 2023, confirming his status as a well-paid backup.

The Ravens' fourth-quarter problems are moving earlier

Historically, the fourth-quarter Ravens have not been a great team. That fourth-quarter Ravens has started to creep its way into the third-quarter Ravens. And I think eventually it's going to keep creeping earlier and earlier in the game. I don't think it's going to get better because the defense does not look good.

This is a season-long assessment that can only be judged against Baltimore's eventual 2026 performance.

Baker Mayfield has a real revenge game against Cleveland

This is like a big Baker revenge spot too. This is not a made-up Baker—I have a perceived slight against me because some team didn't trade for me when I was on the market. This is Baker Mayfield against Stefanski, and they haven't talked since he left Cleveland.

Whether the personal history materially affects the game is subjective, though the stated public grievance is part of the episode's context.

The NFL should reduce the season to 16 games

I'm going to say it. I think that 17 games is too much. I like the scarcity. I like if you brought it back to 16, because the NFL's also been playing this game for a long time where they have to find safer-looking ways to do a dangerous activity.

The preferred NFL schedule is a policy judgment, though the player-safety rationale is grounded in the discussion's cited study.
