PFT CommenterDungeons and Dragons would be an effective team-building tool for pro sports teams
I would like to see Timm Woods go into like a professional sports locker room and run a D&D thing as a team building thing.
Timm WoodsProfessional sports teams are starting to incorporate Dungeons and Dragons into their operations
If anyone's been noticing the Chiefs recently ran D&D on my and like put it up on social media and stuff. All I will say right now is I'm talking to some teams.
Big CatSam Darnold's performance in the NFC Championship game was his defining moment as a quarterback.
The way he [Sam Darnold] won the NFC championship game cannot be forgotten because that was probably the Super Bowl... that was his defining win as a quarterback in terms of how he played. He played a perfect game.
Big CatMike McDonald is a defensive wizard who has swung the NFL back toward defensive-minded head coaches.
Mike McDonald is a defensive wizard... For a league that is going in one direction in terms of offensive head coaches, he has completely swung it back and being like, I can scheme up a game. I can have a game plan ready to go.
PFT CommenterNFL teams will start keeping struggling quarterbacks longer hoping they become the next Sam Darnold.
You're probably gonna see some teams stick with a quarterback maybe a season or two longer than maybe they should. Because they're like, what if he just becomes Sam Darnold? And what if he gets really good? What if it was our problem to begin with?
Big CatThere is a 1% chance the Patriots blow out the Seahawks in Super Bowl 60
I think there's a 40% chance the Patriots win close. I think there's a 40% chance the Seahawks win close. I think there's a 20% chance the sea could blow 'em out... [0% chance of Patriots blowout?] ... 1% chance. Because that way I won't look so stupid if it happens. 1% chance the Patriots blow out the Seahawks.
PFT CommenterHunter Henry will not score a touchdown in the Super Bowl
The No Henry Lock of the week. Hunter Henry to not score a touchdown minus three 40... I call it no Henry.
Fred WarnerKyle Shanahan is eventually going to win a Super Bowl
It's only a matter of time. It is not a thing of like, oh, is Kyle Shanahan ever gonna get a trophy? It's like, no, no, he's going to get one because he's that good.
Big CatEvery NFL team will eventually be forced to play an international game annually
And the worst part about it is this is clearly going to keep going up and up and up. It's not gonna go backwards. It's gonna go more until every single team... there'll be 16 international games and every single team will have to play in an international game.
PFT CommenterNFL referees are too focused on physical fitness and should spend more time in the lab
Here's my problem with refs. They've gotten too focused on physical fitness recently. We used to have one jacked ref that was Ed Hochuli. All these other guys are like, I wanna have big arms too. They need to be in the lab, not in the gym.
Scott ZolakRhamondre Stevenson will score the first touchdown of the Super Bowl
Rhamondre Stevenson... I think he's gonna run it in from about the six.
PFT CommenterA Patriots loss in Super Bowl 60 would make them the 'LeBron James of the NFL' for having the most losses ever
If we lose this one, that's the most Super Bowl losses of any franchise ever. That'll put us number one... It would be the LeBron James of the NFL if we lost these the Super Bowl today... he's lost a lot of championships. Same thing.
PFT CommenterThe Arizona Cardinals head coaching job is a bad one to take
Obviously you take a job if it's offered to you, but that seems like a not great job to take. Because it's a, well, number one, it's the Cardinals. Number two, they don't really have a plan at quarterback at all. Number three, every other coach in your division rocks.
PFT CommenterKwesi Adofo-Mensah was fired because Sam Darnold is playing in the Super Bowl and JJ McCarthy is not
The fact that Sam Darnold is currently playing in the Super Bowl is a problem. Correct. And the report was that the paternity leave thing happened two years ago... I think that when he does get fired, then other people around the league immediately go back to the one thing they know him for, which is this weirdo took two weeks off work.
HankThe Jets are spreading fake rumors about Drake May because they are sad
People are making up Photoshops. They're trying to create false, false narratives. Jets fans are, are, are making up rumors that are not football related about Drake. It's nonsense. It's sad. It's absolute nonsense. It's rubbish.
Chris BermanSam Darnold was never the problem during his tenure with the Jets
I said, can I just say one thing to you? There are a lot of people in New York rooting for you. Parentheses. I didn't say it. But he got it. Like, he goes, it's nice for you to say. I said, no, no, I grew up at Shea Stadium... They figured out you're not the problem.
Chris BermanThe Seahawks will beat the Patriots 26-17 in Super Bowl 60
I would, I made the spread five... Somewhere in the game there will be a one yard touchdown run by the Seahawks... I had, and we can massage it, 26 17... Seventeens a normal score. I like to make it enough. Three or four. So that opposite... who's covering. I just think Seattle's [going to win].
PFT CommenterPFT Commenter is concerned about Drake May's shoulder injury heading into the Super Bowl
That's my concern with a run first quarterback like that. Especially taking shots on your right shoulder, because that's the only position that a guy can't play if he's got a sore right shoulder. He took a shot, got tackled, and then he got up shaking his shoulder out, and then the very next throw he kind of short armed it, went down to the right. And now he's popped up on the injury report.
PFT CommenterBill Polian's Belichick Hall of Fame snub is an all-time backfire move - he's Mount Rushmore of haters
The more I've thought about it, the more I find myself agreeing with Bill Polian. No, the more I've thought about it, the more I've realized that Bill Polian, what were you doing, dude? You just basically had the whole world. Whatever legacy you had is gone. He's Mount Rushmore of haters.
PFT CommenterSuper Bowl 60 is a quintessential Mike Vrabel game - his underdog record as 3+ point underdog is above .500
I do think that Vrabel is going to take a little bit of that personally, not that he needs extra motivation. This is a quintessential Mike Vrabel game. Mike Vrabel has an underdog. If he's an underdog of three points or more this year, he's been two and oh in those games. His lifetime record in those games is above 500 as an underdog. They gave Mike Vrabel a Mike Vrabel game at the Super Bowl.
PFT CommenterShedeur Sanders is not going to be a top-of-the-line quarterback in the NFL
I don't think he's gonna be Lamar Jackson. I don't think Shedeur is going to be a top of the line quarterback in the NFL regardless.
Big CatJimmy Haslam is at the top of the asshole dumbass owners list in the NFL
Jimmy Haslam, this is the problem. It's these fucking owners, man. Your anger should be at Jimmy Haslam and Jimmy Haslam alone. When we do our list of asshole dumbass owners, he's on the top of the list.
PFT CommenterMike McCarthy is a very good coach who has been unfairly clowned
I think Mike McCarthy is a very good coach. I think that he's kind of been clowned upon a little bit for not winning as much as he could, especially when he was in Green Bay. But I think he's a good coach. So I'm happy for Pittsburgh. I'm glad they got a yinzer.
PFT CommenterIf the Seahawks win the Super Bowl, the 2018 draft becomes the Sam Darnold draft instead of the Josh Allen/Lamar Jackson draft
If the Seahawks win, does that become the Sam Darnold draft? Because right now it's the Josh Allen Lamar Jackson draft. I think it might be. I think it would have to become the Sam Darnold draft.
Mike FlorioThe Hall of Fame needs to go back to the old 80% up-or-down voting system for each finalist
They should have forced the voters to say yes or no on Bill Belichick. And they need to go back to what's the easiest fix here. Go back to the system where the finalists each have an 80% up or down, yes or no vote like it used to be. It's fundamentally unfair.
Big CatThe Hall of Fame voting should be televised
The NFL televises everything. We've made a night out of the schedule release that we already know. Let's televise this thing. Let's make the writers and the voters stand behind their words. Why not?
PFT CommenterConference championships should not be played at neutral sites - football is an outdoor sport that should be played in the elements
I don't like the idea of doing a neutral site. I think if you get the higher seed you should be rewarded for playing better in the regular season. The snow and the elements and the wind and the cities that the teams are based in is a good addition. If Russia had built a dome, they'd all be speaking German right now. Football is an outdoor sport. Fundamentally, it should be played in the wintertime. It should be played in the elements.
Mike Florio17 NFL teams will be playing in domes within the next 10 years
Seventeen teams are gonna be playing in domes within the next 10 years. The way things are currently going, the Chiefs are moving into a dome.
Mike FlorioMike Vrabel's coaching genius and attention to detail could be the biggest thing the Patriots have going for them in the Super Bowl
There's a genius to the way that Vrabel coaches. I think he's able to outsmart arguably any coach in the league right now. That's the biggest thing the Patriots have going for them in the Super Bowl. Little things like that. There's a genius to the way that Vrabel coaches.
PFT CommenterShedeur Sanders making the Pro Bowl will be the death of the game
This might be what kills the Pro Bowl. We've been begging for the Pro Bowl to die. It's been on life support and it's been time to pull the plug for a while. And maybe the fact that Shedeur [Sanders] made it, that should be the end of the line.
Big CatMatt Nagy might be the next Eagles offensive coordinator
Can I throw out a name that maybe has misplayed his hand a little bit? Matt Nagy... maybe Matt Nagy is the guy. He is from Pennsylvania 'cause he played quarterback at Delaware. So maybe he's ready for it.
HankThe Patriots have a massive coaching edge in the Super Bowl because Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels have been there before
Mike Vrabel and Josh McDaniels have been here before. They know what it takes and what they have to do in the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. They know every single facet of Super Bowl preparation, they are gonna have the Patriots more prepared than the Seahawks will. That is what it ultimately comes down to.
DeAndre HopkinsMike Vrabel is the best situational coach in football
Vrabel I think is one of the, if not the best situational coaches in football... he knows football. He'll get down in the dirt with you. He'll block you, he'll try to run a route on you at practice.
Big CatThe NFL should simplify catch rules to avoid black-and-white controversies
I think the one that should really be reviewed and the NFL should look at is the Isaiah Likely situation... a guy crosses the end zone with the ball, that's a touchdown. So why not having possession of one, two in the end zone being a touchdown? ... I think the NFL should change it for sure... where it's not black and white.
PFT CommenterNew England Patriots success is inevitable and I am done fighting against it
I am done fighting against Hank. I'm done fighting against Patriots fans. It's you, you'd have better luck rooting for the tide not to come in. You'd have better luck rooting for the sun not to rise in the east every morning. I've made the decision to just profit off of it because it's inevitable... they're just a franchise that has a horseshoe shoved up their ass and you can accept it or you can fight against the inevitable and be miserable. I'm choosing love. I'm choosing to love the Patriots from now on because Hank was right.
Big CatThe Denver Broncos would have beaten the Patriots if Bo Nix had started
[Big Cat]: If Bo Nix starts that game, do you think the Broncos win? [PFT]: Yeah. [Big Cat]: Yeah. It's safe to say Bo Nix would've bojangled fried these guys.
PFT CommenterThe Seattle Seahawks have been the best team in the NFL all season
I think that if you look at the entire season, the Seahawks have been the best team in the NFL. [Big Cat]: You agree? [PFT]: Yeah. We got a great Super Bowl matchup. The best team in the NFL and the luckiest team in the NFL.
HankThe Patriots will defeat the Seahawks 28-24 in Super Bowl 60
I was playing out a scenario... which quarterback would you rather be going up against? And it's Sam Darnold. I think it will be a close game. I will go, I don't know, 28, 24 Patriots.
Big CatEvery NFL owner is essentially Jerry Jones, they just choose to stay quiet most of the time
That was one of my big takeaways that Terry Pegula is, or it's not even Terry Pegula specifically. I think that, I just forgot that every owner is actually Jerry Jones. They're just Jerry Jones that, that choose not to speak every week.
PFT CommenterSean McDermott deserves an apology for what he accomplished in Buffalo despite the leadership above him
Maybe we actually owe Sean McDermott a lot more credit. Yeah. Maybe we owe him an apology because we remember what it was like before he got there and what he was able to do with the bills. Nothing short of miraculous.
Big CatThe Seahawks are primed to win the Super Bowl because they eliminated the 49ers
Seven of the last eight teams to eliminate the 49ers have gone on to win the Super Bowl. That's kind of crazy. ... The Seahawks are primed to win the Super Bowl 'cause they have eliminated the 49ers.
Mark SchlerethThe Broncos' defensive struggles against Buffalo are a bigger concern than Jarrett Stidham's ability
I'm far less concerned about Jared Stidham than I am about the way our defense played against Buffalo. Our defense got run through, I mean, and I thought we got out executed out game, planned out schemed as a defense.
PFT CommenterFernando Mendoza will be the Las Vegas Raiders starting quarterback next year
Fernando Mendoza got to show that he can take a beating. Yeah. Which he will likely have to do as a Las Vegas Raiders quarterback next year.
Adam ThielenAaron Rodgers is still capable of being a high-level NFL quarterback
Yeah, I mean he can still do it for sure... being around him, just seeing how he, again, how he operated, how he practiced. I mean, the guy the guy has, you know, been playing for 20 some years and still every day of practice like treating it, it's like it's a game.
