If it were up to me. Marvin Harrison, Jr. Trade up Michael Penix. That's, that's my best case scenario draft... trade up to... get Penix Jr.

The Patriots should draft Marvin Harrison Jr. instead of a quarterback

I'm still down for Marvin Harrison Jr. No. One Bailey's Afro set. Yeah. There's plenty of fine quarterbacks out there. You have a franchise wide receiver who's a stud and can actually make things happen with a perfectly fine Jacob Brissett.

The Patriots drafted QB Drake May with the 3rd overall pick; Marvin Harrison Jr. went 4th to the Cardinals.

The Buffalo Bills have been cursed from returning to the Super Bowl since OJ Simpson committed murder in 1994

I realized after OJ died, the Bills haven't made the Super Bowl since he committed double murder. 1994, the Bills played in the Super Bowl. Summer 94 [the murder happened]. This might be good things for the Bills [now that he's dead].

The Bills' last Super Bowl appearance was indeed Super Bowl XXVIII (January 1994), and the murders occurred in June 1994. They have not returned since.

Trading Stefon Diggs is a genius move for the Houston Texans

I do love this move for the Texans. I think it's a genius move for the Texans. They are basically going all in under CJ Stroud's rookie contract. This is what a team should do. Yeah. Like if you're a Texans fans, you should be really pumped.

Trading for Stefon Diggs was initially seen as a smart move, but Diggs tore his ACL in Week 8 of the 2024 season, ending his year. The Texans made the playoffs but lost in the Divisional Round to the Chiefs. The move wasn't 'genius' as it was derailed by injury.

The Buffalo Bills are forced into a hard reset but will be fine as long as they have Josh Allen

The bills should be criticized for going all in with this older team that wasn't able to win a Super Bowl. But now this is the reality. They have to, they have to hit their hard reset... But that's just the reality of it. And even still, if you're a Bills fan, as doom and gloom as it might seem to trade Stefon Diggs, you have Josh Allen and if you draft well you'll still have a shot.

The Bills started the 2024 season strongly and remained competitive despite losing Diggs, supporting the idea that Allen is the engine.

Spring football (UFL) will never be relevant because the sports calendar is too crowded

I'm, I've never been more confident in my take that spring football. I just don't care. I, I feel very good about that because I've, every, every few years they try to pop one up and be like, you should care. I respect the sports calendar more than anything. This is March Madness. Banning the hip drop tackle is a massive mistake for the NFL

Banning that [swivel hip drop tackle] would be a massive, massive mistake. Mistake, mistake... It's such a subjective call because you have to have certain elements that are involved in the speed that the game's played at. You're gonna have referees that are like, 'I think that was a hip drop tackle. I'm not really sure.'

The rule has been highly controversial in the 2024 season, with many fans and analysts sharing PFT's sentiment about its subjectivity.

A big NFL game will be decided by a hip drop tackle penalty this year

The first reason in my mind is we have just added a rule that is going to be debated similar to can't land on the quarterback. There will be a big, big game decided by the hip drop. Because what is it, what's the penalty now? Is it 15 yards?

Whether a 'big game' was decided specifically by a hip drop tackle penalty is hard to definitively verify. The rule was implemented but no singular iconic game-deciding hip drop tackle penalty dominated headlines.

Banning the hip drop tackle makes tight ends even more valuable

I also think this now makes the tight end position even more valuable because a lot of the hip drop tackles are defensive back, smaller guys getting beat a little bit and trying to slow down a bigger guy with a hip drop tackle where he is trying to, you know, don't ride on top of him and let him get a couple extra yards. Try to stop his momentum and bring him backwards. I now that you can't do that, I think tight ends are gonna eat in the flats.

Tight end usage remains high, but it's hard to definitively attribute their success solely to the hip-drop ban versus general offensive trends.

The NFL intentionally made kickoffs unwatchable for years to force fans to accept the new XFL-style rule

What the NFL did was they made kickoffs so shitty for the last couple seasons that now we're welcoming anything that involves a return... The NFL, it was a good job on their part in the long term to make kickoffs unwatchable and so shitty that now they add any sort of element that has return game in it and people are like, 'yeah, this rocks now.'

The logic follows a 'New Coke' strategy, but there's no way to verify the league's intentionality in tanking a product to sell a replacement.
