Christian Yelich and DJ John Summit on the Bucks Collapse and NBA Playoffs
The NBA playoffs are officially in full swing and we might have just witnessed the end of an era in Milwaukee. The Pacers closed out the Bucks in a game that featured a historic collapse and Gary Trent Jr. hitting four straight threes in overtime before turning into a pumpkin at the worst possible moment. Big Cat is already looking at the moving trucks for the Greek Freak, and the reality for Bucks fans is looking pretty grim.
It is a foregone conclusion that Giannis Antetokounmpo will never wear a Bucks jersey again
The Bucks maybe if you're a Bucks fan, this is the last time you see Giannis in a Bucks jersey, which sucks... I feel like it's a foregone conclusion [he is gone].
PFT immediately went to the nightmare scenario of where Giannis lands next. While the trade logistics would be a mess since Milwaukee has already shipped out every pick they have for the next decade, the thought of Giannis in a different jersey is enough to keep any Eastern Conference fan up at night.
Giannis Antetokounmpo joining the Thunder would ruin the NBA
I heard people talking about Giannis to the Thunder that would, that might ruin the NBA. Well, if Giannis goes to the Thunder next year, they would have to trade players.
The guys also broke down the Pistons' massive win at MSG. Max was particularly heated about former Sixer Tobias Harris finding success in Detroit after years of disappointment in Philly.
Tobias Harris is a pussy
Tobias Harris is a pussy. The amount of people that are pussies that can't play in Philadelphia is disgusting.
While the Pistons kept their season alive, the conversation turned to Tom Thibodeau's bizarre clock management. Watching Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart stand at the scorers table for ninety seconds of game time while the season slipped away was pure Tibs insanity.
Tom Thibodeau is an idiot for his clock management in the Pistons loss
I think Tibs is an idiot. He should have called the time out... You have to fucking get those guys in the game. You can't let a minute and a half go by with both those guys standing and watching at the scorers table.
In the NHL, the Capitals season came to a disappointing end, but the real story was PFT's early exit from the arena in Montreal. After getting pegged by a fan on video, PFT had to come clean about pulling the ripper with a few minutes left on the clock.
I'm officially on the record for leaving a Capitals playoff game early
I have a confession to make... I did leave the game early. Oldie and I were sitting there we're depressed caps are losing... There's about three minutes left in the game... I wanted to let you guys know that I did regrettably leave the game about two and a half minutes early.
Christian Yelich joined the guys in studio to talk about the Brewers' season and that "ghastly error" that made its way around the internet. Yelich was a great sport about it, explaining the feeling of chasing a ball to the wall while the stadium boos you.
Errors in the outfield are significantly worse than errors in the infield
Errors in the outfield are way worse than errors on the infield for whatever reason. 'cause anytime you're like backed to the field, you are chasing the ball after.
They also got into the future of baseball and the potential for robot umpires. Yelich isn't a fan of going full machine, but he does see a world where the challenge system makes sense for the most egregious misses.
Robot umpires should only be used for challenges, not for every pitch
I think that would be like the furthest extent that you'd want see it. I don't want it like full, I, I just, yeah. Don't think it would be good... I think in big spots if like there's an egregious miss or something like that, like I think even the umpires would probably want it to be corrected.
Finally, the guys sat down with DJ John Summit, who has one of the wildest career arcs in the world. Going from an accountant at EY to headlining Coachella in just a few years is the definition of a heater. Summit talked about his work ethic and why he's not worried about AI taking over the booth any time soon.
AI can make a song for Spotify, but it can never replicate the live performance experience
It could never replicate the live experience though. So maybe AI can make a Spotify song... but you can't, you can't beat a live show. And that's the one thing I think some DJs lack is that they just, you know, I think adding in all these extra elements will make it dope.
He also touched on the discipline he learned from his accounting days, which helps him maintain a grueling tour schedule while still finding time to work on new music in the lab.
Doing work is more fulfilling than pursuing girls
Doing work lasts longer and more fulfilling. Took me 35 years to figure it out... Fact confirmed. Doing girls very cool, but doing work lasts longer and more fulfilling.
Even if you aren't a dance music guy, you have to respect an accountant who got fired for having bloodshot eyes at the office only to become the biggest DJ on the planet.
