The Kansas City Chiefs should sign Tom Brady to mentor Patrick Mahomes

I think the Chiefs have the upper hand right now... there's rumors that they're not happy with Mahomes and his leadership. They want Tom there for a year, have him grow... I think they pay Tom and just wait for a year for an extension with Patty. Give him a one-year deal.

Brady signed with the Buccaneers; the Chiefs did not pursue him to mentor Mahomes.

Brian Flores is an unbelievable coach and the Dolphins won't be as bad as they look

Brian Flores really good he was a quality control special teams dude when I was there in New England dude Rose the Rings unbelievable Coach and he's I mean I thought he did one of the best coaching job The NFL last year... Hopefully no Dolphins get offended like the trashiest football team... But [Flores] I thought did one of the best coaching jobs.

Flores went 10-6 in 2020 and 9-8 in 2021, proving Woodhead right that the coaching was high-level enough to make them competitive quickly.

The COVID-19 pandemic is the easiest time ever for athletes to get away with taking PEDs

It would be the easiest time ever to take PEDs, the absolute absolute easiest time, because you could get out of it. Like, what are they going to say, 'No, you don't have symptoms'? Yes, I do. And then you just maybe you just cough or something. You will not get tested.

While anecdotal evidence of increased usage is hard to verify, the logic regarding testing disruptions was sound.

The ideal modern NFL running back is 5'10" or shorter and around 205 pounds

If I'm a head coach, even in the NFL, I want a back that's 5'10" or shorter. People are going to laugh, but I don't want a six-foot-two running back. I want a 5'10" or shorter, 210 to 200 pounds running back who's fast, can catch the ball, and then I'll go get a six-foot-two, 225-pounder that can run on the goal line.

This is a matter of coaching philosophy, though many successful modern backs (McCaffrey, Ekeler) fit this mold.

Wearing white cleats makes a football player look significantly faster than wearing black cleats.

White cleats make you look faster... I don't think there's even a conversation... putting black cleats on a white guy... that's like just saying, 'Hey Danny, run your 40-yard dash in quicksand.'

Hunter Henry is one of the best tight ends in the NFL.

Hunter Henry... I think he's one of the best tight ends in the league, and he hasn't even been playing.

The Ravens' run offense is only successful because of Lamar Jackson's threat

The holes are ginormous. Like, and that's the thing that's unbelievable about a running quarterback is you don't have to block certain people because his fake will block a lot of people. You don't have to block the DN [defensive end] to the left because a DN to the left has to, he has to acknowledge Lamar.

This is a fundamental concept in modern football scouting regarding the 'read option' and dual-threat QBs.

NFL teams will figure out Lamar Jackson in his second year

Next year is going to be different. I truly believe that... the coordinators haven't had a year to see what they're doing. You look at a lot of the great running quarterbacks, their first year is pretty nuts, and then the second year, that's when you see if they're really that good.

Lamar Jackson won the NFL MVP in 2019 (his second year) and led the Ravens to a 14-2 record.

You should always call tails on a coin toss because 'tails never fails' and people who call heads are weirdos.

I'm personally a tails guy... tails never fails... the people that are saying heads, they're playing with fire... I don't want to be friends with that guy that does... people who call heads are weirdos.

There is a 0% chance I will ever return to the NFL

I'd say if it was from zero to 100, 100 being yes, I thought about it, zero being I didn't think about it, I'd say anywhere into the negative 100,000.

Danny Woodhead never returned to the NFL after retiring in early 2018.

There is a 100% chance I am doing some sort of fantasy football or pick-em game this year

there's 100% chance I'm doing some sort of fantasy or pick-em or some fun game. I've got to do something, right?

Danny Woodhead did indeed become a regular fantasy football contributor for PMT and other outlets following his retirement.

I chose retirement to avoid moving my family for a one-year deal

It's going to be a one year deal. So it's probably going to only be for six months. And then I'm going to move back to Nebraska... If I was going to play, I felt like it was going to be me being a little bit selfish because it's been about me the last 10 years. So maybe it's time to be about my family a little bit more.

This is a personal life decision stated by the speaker.

A truly gritty person doesn't want to explain what grit is

I think in all fairness, if you are gritty, you don't want to be the person explaining what it is. You just go out and you do your job every day. And then everyone else can decide if you're gritty or not.

A subjective definition of character traits.

NFL players must use a patellar tendon graft to successfully return from an ACL injury

If you want to keep playing... You know you've got to do the patella. No, no, no. That's part of your knee... And that's the best way. I'm continuing playing, and I'm excited about next year.

While patellar tendon grafts are common for athletes, medical consensus varies and other techniques are also successful; however, Woodhead did successfully return in 2017.

Double Stuf Oreos are the only real 'regular' Oreos

Double Stuf are legitimate regular Oreos. Old school Oreos are definitely diet Oreos. These thin Oreos that people are trying to say are already diet Oreos? No. Those just aren't real.

Subjective cookie philosophy.

Philip Rivers is one of the most underrated players in the NFL

Philip Rivers is, I would say, one of the... I think he's one of the more underrated players with what he can do. He's a pretty amazing quarterback.

Rivers is frequently cited as one of the best QBs to never win a Super Bowl, fitting the 'underrated' profile.
