The Rockets losing Trevor Ariza and gaining Carmelo Anthony has a bigger impact on the NBA title than Boogie Cousins joining the Warriors

I actually have a hot take. I think the Rockets letting Ariza go and somehow making it Michael Carter Williams or Carmelo Anthony has more of an impact on the title than Boogie Cousins.

Melo was cut after 10 games and Houston regressed, while Boogie was a solid contributor when healthy. The Rockets' move was indeed more impactful, but negatively.

LeBron James is joining a terrible Lakers team as it is currently constructed

LeBron's going to the Lakers with a terrible team as currently constructed. Magic Johnson did something good with getting LeBron and then immediately followed it up with the weirdest... They got Rondo, they got Lance Stephenson, they got JaVale McGee. They basically just got a bunch of people that don't fit with LeBron whatsoever.

The 2018-19 Lakers missed the playoffs and were widely criticized for their poor roster construction around LeBron before trading for Anthony Davis the following summer.

Kobe Bryant secretly hates that LeBron James joined the Lakers

LeBron's going to be a Laker and now Kobe is silently stewing and he's going to pretend to like this, but you know he hates it.

Subjective opinion on Kobe's internal feelings, though Kobe publicly welcomed LeBron.

LeBron James will not make the Finals with the Lakers this year

I'm psyched for LeBron to be a Laker. It does throw into jeopardy his attempt at getting 10 Finals losses because he's not going to make the Finals.

LeBron and the Lakers missed the playoffs in 2019, ending his streak of eight straight Finals appearances.

The Ravens are abandoning their draft-and-develop philosophy because they've drafted poorly lately

The Ravens feel like the team for however long, I mean, pretty much their entire history, it's like what they do is they draft really well. They don't have to do these type of moves. And then they do this move... maybe the Ravens haven't drafted as well recently. So now they do have to join everyone else and be these guys.

Subjective analysis of team building strategy.

The Ravens have a three-to-four-year window with Lamar Jackson to go all in and win a Super Bowl

Are the Ravens basically saying Lamar Jackson, he's 29, he's got, we got like a three, four year window where we're gonna have to go all in here? You're kind of forking the road. Are you trying to keep your draft capital to keep reloading around Lamar Jackson? You're like, 'Hey, let's go win this right now.'

The Ravens' success in this window depends on winning a Super Bowl before Lamar Jackson hits his 30s.

The NFL center market is currently the hottest position market in the world

The center market actually feels like it's the hottest market out there. The Packers signed their center who started seven games signed for 11 million a year. The center market just might be the hottest market in the world.

While 'hottest in the world' is hyperbolic, the sentiment reflects the actual 2026 free agency center market trends.
