The Toronto Maple Leafs are legitimate Stanley Cup contenders and I am rooting for them

The Maple Leafs have been pathetic. 53 years? But now they have a team that is like legitimately built to win a Stanley Cup, I think... I've actually come out and said that I'm rooting for the Toronto Maple Leafs to win the cup this year. That's my team this year.

The 2021 Maple Leafs lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Montreal Canadiens after leading the series 3-1.

Arizona is a college basketball blue blood

Arizona could be a blue blood. I think Arizona is a blue blood. I mean, they won a national championship in the early 2000s... Legendary coach [Lute Olson]?

The concept of 'blue blood' is subjective, but Arizona is generally considered just below the top tier of UK, UNC, Duke, Kansas, UCLA, and Indiana.

No college basketball team will ever win back-to-back national championships again

Back-to-back championships. They'll never be done again. It might, but I don't think it will.

UConn won back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024, proving this take definitively incorrect.

There are only six true blue bloods in college basketball: Kentucky, UNC, Indiana, Duke, UCLA, and Kansas

I googled Blue Bloods in college basketball. Historically speaking, there are only six, so it's even more exclusive. Kentucky, UNC, Indiana, Duke, UCLA, and Kansas. [Indiana] are technically blue blood but I think they would probably be first one out.

The definition of a blue blood is inherently subjective and based on historical prestige vs modern success.

Connor McDavid is playing the best hockey of his career in this Olympic tournament

I don't know if McDavid's ever been this good... It's incredible. Like I think he gave guys maybe six or seven grade A scoring chances. He had seven shots on his own. Then the Finnish coach today said, yeah, McDavid is the best player in this tournament by a mile.

McDavid's brilliance is widely acknowledged, though 'best ever' is always debatable.

Sidney Crosby's Olympic injury is likely an MCL sprain

He was trying to stabilize on his right leg and it just, it opened up, which to me speaks MCL sprain... I'm hoping it's not too bad and it's just a grade one, maybe two MCL sprain.

Ryan Whitney correctly diagnosed Sidney Crosby's Olympic injury as an MCL sprain. Former NFL doctor David Chao confirmed Crosby likely sustained a low-grade left knee MCL sprain after his collision with Radko Gudas. Crosby missed the rest of the Olympics and was placed on IR for at least four weeks upon returning to the Penguins.

Team USA has a better defensive corps than Canada, but Canada has significantly better forwards

The D's better overall. I believe their forwards are significantly better than ours... Crosby being out, it's scary. And if he's out, that's a big difference... On D our D's better, their forwards are better.

A widely held scouting assessment of the two 2026 Olympic rosters.
