Matt Rhule will do TV for a year and then get another big college job

My guess is he does TV and then waits this cycle out and, and sees what's available next cycle... he'll be beloved on tv. Unlike most head coaches at that level, he can have a normal human conversation.

Rhule actually jumped back into coaching very quickly, taking the Nebraska job in November 2022, though he did some media spots in the interim.

Russell Wilson is a mentally broken man

I think yes, there is [something wrong with Russell Wilson]. I think mentally he's a broken man.

While subjective, Wilson's tenure in Denver was statistically the worst of his career and he was eventually benched and released, supporting the idea of a major breakdown in his play.

Russell Wilson will eventually claim a season-ending injury to get a fresh start if this continues

It does feel like this is a situation where Russell Wilson could, if it keeps going bad, be like, I'm out for the year and just do a fresh start. And I actually wouldn't blame him because a fresh start is almost what this team needs.

Wilson played 15 games in 2022. He did not opt out for the year due to injury, though he was eventually benched late in the 2023 season for financial/contract reasons.

There are only three or four truly good teams in the NFL right now

I just don't think there's more than three or four really good teams. Like when you think about the really good teams, the Bills and the Eagles have played really good football, the Chiefs, the Giants and Jets you could throw in there, but like everyone else has... had some real stinker of games.

The Giants and Jets both regressed, but the Bills, Eagles, and Chiefs remained the elite tier through the Super Bowl.

Indiana is the favorite to win the national championship among the remaining four teams

I think you'd have to call Indiana the favorite. I mean, they, they've been the most consistent all year long. They've played the best in the biggest games all year long. And that goes back to, to when they went to Eugene and beat Oregon.

Indiana was the favorite and won the national championship 27-21 over Miami, completing a 16-0 season.

If a college coach doesn't show significant improvement by Year 2, the hire was a failure

If your guy's not getting it done by year two, you blew the higher. That's, that's it. In this era, you blew the higher, if your guy's not good by year two... if you've got a coach te begging for patience, that's a coach who knows He's already cooked.

This is a philosophical take on sports management and remains subjective.

The Tennessee vs Oklahoma game is a playoff elimination game

I'd say the game that intrigues me most is a pure playoff elimination game in Knoxville... Tennessee, Oklahoma, absolute winner is alive, loser is dead. And the Oklahoma fans very down on Brent Venables. They'll love him if he wins.

Oklahoma lost and did fall out of playoff contention; Tennessee won and stayed alive.
