Coach K gave Jeff Capel the Duke team as a tryout to become the future head coach

Um, that K, this whole Capel thing is a tryout for Capel because K wants Capel to get the job after he leaves. So this is, this is not actually like a, his back doesn't hurt. He's just saying, here you go, Capel. I'm going to give you the most talented team, maybe in college basketball history... prove to everyone that you're a great coach. And then that way, when I retire, you can be like, 'Hey, remember that time that I took 12 McDonald's All-Americans to a 4-0 record?'

Jeff Capel did not become the successor; he left for Pittsburgh in 2018. Jon Scheyer was eventually named the successor in 2021.

Wild Card Weekend is the second-best weekend in sports, behind only Divisional Weekend

If we're doing a power ranking of sports weekends, Wild Card Weekend is in my top three. I've got Wild Card Weekend, I'll call it number two. Divisional Weekend's number one.

Ranking of sports weekends is purely a matter of personal preference.

The Houston Texans are better off without J.J. Watt

I want their team to go so far in the playoffs that are the Houston Texans better without J.J. Watt takes start to heat up. Because if they win, I'll say if they win two playoff games. Yeah, if they win two playoff games, you're going to get those takes, and I'm here for those.

The Texans won one playoff game but lost to the Patriots in the Divisional Round. The 'better without J.J.' takes never truly materialized as a mainstream consensus.

The Miami Dolphins' teal and aqua uniforms do not belong in the NFL playoffs

I'm just going to say it, right? The Dolphins' uniforms are not playoff uniforms. They aren't. That's a hot take, I know, but it's the truth. Teal and that aqua and all that shit doesn't belong in the playoffs.

Uniform aesthetics are inherently subjective.

North Carolina's inclusion in the tournament is the most egregious committee decision ever

I thought North Carolina, at no point in the season did they look like an NCAA tournament team. They, they, yeah. They, their, their, their highs weren't very high. Their lows were pretty damn low. And I was, I was stunned. I was, in all the years of, you know, that's how the bracket works. It comes out, we, we lose our minds about teams that got in that didn't deserve it. We, we feel bad for the teams that were left out. This is the most egregious example that I've ever seen.

Whether UNC 'deserved' to be in is subjective, but Titus's claim that they didn't look like a tournament team is a strong opinion on their 2024-25 performance.

The 2025 National Champion will be a 1 or 2 seed

I think the national champion is in that group [of 11 teams meeting KenPom criteria]... I have a really good feeling that it was gonna be a one or a two. 'Cause if you watched all season, it just felt like these teams are just way better than everybody else. I feel that way this year for the first time since 2015. I have that same feeling again.

Florida, the #1 seed, won the 2025 NCAA Championship. In fact, all four #1 seeds made the Final Four, only the second time that has happened.

The 2025 NCAA Tournament will be very 'chalky' with high seeds dominating

I think this is the year of chalk... I have a really good feeling that it was gonna be a one or a two. Because if you watched all season, it just felt like these teams are just way better than everybody else... I'm very, very confident that your national champion will be a one or two.

The tournament has not concluded yet.
