The Rams need to hire John Gruden because a new stadium requires a 'splash' hire

The Los Angeles Rams are moving toward a meeting with ESPN analyst John Gruden... that's really nice because you need a splash, and nothing says a splash like a guy who hasn't been coaching for about 15 years... they need a coach to bring in the new stadium.

OpinionFootballMediumSarcastic
The Rams did not hire Gruden; they hired Sean McVay in January 2017.

Star players only sit out bowl games when the bowl has poor leadership

If those two clowns of bowls [the Citrus Bowl and the Sun Bowl] had actual leadership running the show, I don't think that the star players would be sitting out.

The outcome is subjective, but the specific claim is satirical and part of a bit about their own bowl game.

Christian McCaffrey lacks the genetic benefits and pedigree of Leonard Fournette

When you look at Christian McCaffrey, this is a guy that's had to scrap and work and motor and study and think his way to everything that he is today. And then you look at Leonard Fournette, and he's got all the great genetics in the world, whereas a guy like Christian McCaffrey doesn't have that benefit, doesn't have the pedigree.

Hot TakeFootballHotSarcastic
Factually, McCaffrey has elite NFL pedigree. The take is satirizing how white and black athletes are scouted differently.

Kirk Herbstreit's take on players sitting out bowl games is invalid because he wasn't an NFL prospect

[Kirk Herbstreit] forgot to mention the fact that he only started one season at Ohio State and he wasn't good enough to play in the NFL, so that wasn't even an option for him.

Herbstreit did only start one season and did not play in the NFL, making Big Cat's critique of his perspective factually grounded.

College basketball has five absolutely dominant teams this year

We have five, you could even maybe go to six, just absolutely dominant teams. Michigan, UConn, Duke, Arizona, and Florida that are playing at such an insane level.

The dominance of these teams will be tested in the upcoming NCAA tournament in March 2026.

Florida can win the national championship because they can shoot threes now

Florida though, I've been talking about Florida for three weeks. They could shoot threes now. They absolutely kicked [Arkansas's]... They just throttle teams. All four of [Duke, Michigan, Arizona, Florida] would be the best team in the previous five years.

Whether Florida wins the title or performs as an elite team will be decided by the end of March Madness.

Miami of Ohio will make the tournament even if they lose in the conference tournament

I'm saying right now, winning every... If they go undefeated in the conference, that is so hard to do. I think if they go undefeated in the conference and then lose in the conference tournament, I think they will be in.

This will be resolved on Selection Sunday, March 15th, 2026.
