Bill Belichick now enjoys draft building and roster construction more than coaching

Somebody in the league told me this. They said, I think Belichick enjoys the draft building part of the process now more than he does coaching. Which is weird, right? Because this was his best coaching job ever. This past year.

Inherently subjective as it concerns Belichick's personal preferences, though his personnel decisions often overshadow his coaching in later years.

Bryce Harper probably demanded his $330M contract be paid entirely via Cash Card

I bet you that Bryce Harper has a cash card. I bet you he demanded his entire contract to be paid in the cash card. Do you know why? Because $330 million is cool. But you know what's really cool is having the cash card from the Cash App.

Bryce Harper was not paid via a Cash App debit card; he was paid in US dollars through standard payroll and bonuses.

Kyler Murray is officially draftable on my board because he measured at 5'10"

So 5'10", I like him now. He is draftable. He moved up my big board. He is still undraftable for John Elway, like eight inches too short. John Elway even said that. He was like, yeah, he's... You can't get him under center.

Kyler Murray was drafted #1 overall, proving he was indeed draftable, though Big Cat was speaking about his own arbitrary line.

Jason Witten's return to the NFL is a genius move to save his broadcasting legacy

What Jason Witten has just pulled off... with the one year of broadcasting that he did. And he was bad. He was very bad. He is now going back to the NFL, and now he can forever be the guy where, well, he never got his second year, so we don't know. The jury's still out on whether or not Jason Witten is bad, and history will be kind to him and not mock him.

Witten is widely remembered as a poor broadcaster on MNF despite his return to the field, so history was not as kind as Big Cat predicted.

The Bears are still a year away from being real contenders

I'm a little more realistic because I look at the schedule and see, you know, that they really have what—they played one team with a winning record and lost to 'em. I'm a little apprehensive... I just don't think this is their year. I think they're a year away.

The Bears went 11-6, won the NFC North, and won a playoff game. They were NOT a year away - they were contenders this year.

Sam Darnold will eventually revert to his old, mistake-prone self because 'you are what you are'

Usually this league you are what you are. You're gonna have moments where you're up here... and moments when you're down here... eventually you're in the middle and that's who you are... [Sam Darnold] looked frazzled [last week] and that can't happen. It just can't happen in the big games... there's a Sam Darnold problem at least in my mind.

The take is a subjective long-term outlook on a player's career trajectory.

The 7-4 Chargers will miss the playoffs

They're not making the playoffs... and it's gonna come down to that Chiefs Chargers game and I think the Chiefs will beat 'em. They're seven and four, but if you look at their schedule, it's brutal. And that offensive line is horrible. Yanked [Penning] out of the game. It's a terrible offensive line.

Pete Prisco predicted the 7-4 Chargers would miss the playoffs. The Chargers finished 11-6 and made the playoffs as a Wild Card team, losing to the Patriots 16-3 in the first round.
