I'm potentially returning to the NFL next year and waiting for someone to motivate me

That's not too far off. I'm just waiting on somebody to tick me off. ... if I'm moved by it, I'm going to get moved by it. Right spot, right place, right time.

Cam Newton did not play in the NFL in 2024.

The Dallas Cowboys are basically the same team they were last year

Dallas fans are so confident right now, as they should be. You're a good team, but you're basically the same team that you've been, or that you were last year at least. Yeah. Well, well, Mike McCarthy is the same guy that he was last year.

The Cowboys finished 12-5 for the third straight year and suffered another early, embarrassing playoff exit (Wild Card vs Packers), validating the take that they hadn't actually changed their ceiling.

Dak Prescott is a legitimate NFL MVP candidate because he's taking better care of the football than last year

Dak Prescott's playing way better than last year. He is playing out of his mind. ... Last year he finished the season 23 touchdowns, 15 interceptions. This season through week 13, he's 23 touchdowns, six interceptions. He's having an awesome, awesome year. And he's up there for MVP.

Dak Prescott finished 2nd in the 2023 NFL MVP voting behind Lamar Jackson, so he was definitely a 'legitimate candidate'.

The Seahawks are in serious trouble because of their upcoming schedule against the Niners and Eagles

The Seahawks are in trouble... They have to play. Their next two games are against the Niners and the Eagles. And they, they can't keep losing and make the playoffs.

The Seahawks lost to the Niners but beat the Eagles; they ultimately finished 9-8 and missed the playoffs.

I will never officially retire from the NFL

I don't think I would ever retire. Oh. Oh... I'm one of those guys... if I were to come back at that particular point in time, it would be just for the fans... I'm just waiting on somebody to tick me off.

As of February 2026, Cam Newton has not officially retired from the NFL. He has maintained his stance of not formally announcing retirement.

The Bears should put Justin Fields in a high-gear, uptempo offense

I would have that fucker in high gear. High gear... I think a beneficiary who would benefit off of a uptempo offense is Justin Fields. Because a tired lineman... does not want to run around trying to chase a quarterback. When they do uptempo and they let him like be himself, he looks great.

The Bears traded Fields after the season. While some analysts agree with Cam, the Bears' offensive staff never fully committed to this 'high-gear' style with Fields, making its effectiveness in Chicago a 'what-if'.

Peyton Manning did the NFL a disservice by creating an unrealistic standard for athletic quarterbacks

Peyton Manning did this league a disservice... by having like, you know, 350 yards passing... All right, here comes Michael Vick. Here comes a Cam Newton... athletic quarterbacks that we're going to get the yards elsewhere... it's not the prototypical way. We're used to seeing yards being made.

This is a subjective football philosophy take. Cam is arguing about the perception of the QB position, which can't be objectively proven right or wrong but is a significant cultural critique of NFL scouting and media.
