The Panthers will play hard for Steve Wilks because the locker room wants him to keep the job

The locker room is talking about how [Steve Wilks] got screwed in Arizona and they want him to have the job and they're playing for him and they're like, he means a lot to this franchise to the city... I was like, what do they care? They're out of it. And then I was like, Wait, are they out of it? ... You can delude yourself in being like, we're not out of it because mathematically we would be in first place on Sunday afternoon.

The Panthers finished the season 7-10 under Wilks and played significantly better than expected, although he did not get the permanent job.

Tom Brady should retire right now

Today is Friday, October 28th and Tom Brady should retire. The Buccaneers are a pathetic, pathetic football team. Oh my God. Tom Brady should retire.

Brady did eventually retire following the conclusion of this 2022 season after a first-round playoff loss.

Todd Bowles is a bad head coach

Todd Bowles sucks as a coach. I'm sorry. He sucks. They get so many penalties. It's so many dumb things.

Bowles continued to face criticism throughout the 2022 and 2023 seasons, though he did lead the Bucs to a playoff win in 2023.

The Ravens are back in the Super Bowl contender tier

The Ravens were phenomenal and the Ravens, like, they kind of got their their juice back in terms of of running the football. I have the Ravens back in my good tier. Maybe even, maybe even Super Bowl contender tier.

The Ravens finished 10-7 and lost in the Wild Card round to the Bengals, though Lamar Jackson missed the end of the season with an injury.

The Ravens are using a physical loophole to back out of the Maxx Crosby trade

I'm calling bullshit on all this. It does feel like something's fishy here. And maybe it's just the Ravens using the loophole of, hey, we can see, we can trade for Maxx Crosby, see how the rest of free agency plays out, knowing that this stupid legal tampering and then official free agency, there's a two day gap and then just figure it out later.

The trade was literally rescinded, but the 'nefarious loophole' theory is a subjective interpretation of front office tactics.

The NFL needs a 'no-backsies' rule for players who post elaborate social media goodbye videos

If you post a 13 minute goodbye video on social media like Maxx Crosby did, that should just be trade final. You can't come back on that... I actually am rooting for Maxx Crosby to be on the Raiders now because that will be so awkward and funny.

This is a humorous rule proposal, not a verifiable prediction.

The Panthers were right to overpay for Jaelan Phillips

The Panthers getting Jaelan Phillips, even though it was a lot of money, I feel like you gotta do it. Cap went up and I feel like you have to do those type of moves, especially when you are a playoff team from last year. Your defense was a problem... I'd be like, oh, Howie's interested? I'll give him more money.

The success of the Panthers' defense with Phillips will determine if the overpay was justified.
