A 'black card' exists for elite Russian athletes given directly by Vladimir Putin

I have heard from a decent amount of people that, yeah, Putin gives out this special black card to a bunch of hardcore Russian athletes who make the country proud. Yeah, it could be a complete myth, but I think we should just roll with it.

Unverifiable rumor, though the Russian state is known for lavish gifts to successful athletes.

Dak Prescott's new contract is the best deal ever signed for a player

It's actually, like, maybe the best contract that's ever been signed [for a player]... $126 million out of the $160 million is guaranteed. And it's four years.

The contract was widely praised for its structure, effectively allowing Dak to hit free agency again quickly.

Ezekiel Elliott's contract is the Cowboys' biggest mistake, not Dak Prescott's

If you want to point to one thing they [the Cowboys] screwed up, it's probably Ezekiel Elliott's contract, right? Like Dak Prescott, that's the going rate for quarterbacks right now.

Subjective, but Elliott's production declined significantly after his extension, while Dak remained the franchise cornerstone.

Dak Prescott is an MVP-caliber player because the Cowboys stunk without him

You could make the argument that Dak is an MVP guy because you saw what happened when he went out last year. And the team just stunk. Andy Dalton is probably an average backup. So Dak goes out, Andy comes in, the team just goes to absolute shit.

Dak has historically performed at an MVP-level pace (like early 2020), but the team's record with and without him is a common debate point.

The NHL should move to a longer 3-on-3 overtime to avoid shootouts

I actually think that they should move to a longer three on three. Even if you added two extra minutes... I think would, would make a lot more games end in in in overtime as opposed to going to a shootout.

Shootouts remain a divisive topic in hockey, and many fans/players share this sentiment.

If Team USA and Canada meet in the final, it will go to overtime

I'll say that the way that the Olympics have gone so far, as far as the hockey, I think it's going to overtime. I think it's gonna be Canada, us.

USA and Canada met in the 2026 Olympic men's hockey gold medal final on February 22, 2026, and the game did go to overtime. The USA won 2-1 in OT on a Jack Hughes goal 1:41 into overtime.

Hockey is on the rise and the Four Nations tournament will be a high-stakes precursor to the Olympics

Hockey's on the rise man. On the rise. Hockey's on a heater as we always say on the podcast, the last two years. And on top of that, boys we're heading into an Olympic year. With all that Four Nations... precursor to the Olympics coming up. It ain't the Olympics. We all know that. But don't act like they weren't playing for something. They were playing for pride.

This is an inherently subjective opinion about the state of the sport and the prestige of a specific tournament.
