Vladimir Putin hands out unlimited credit cards to high-end Russian hockey players

I've just heard some rumblings, and it's been confirmed by a few guys that, like, Putin basically hands out credit cards to all these high-end Russian hockey players like Malkin and Ovechkin. Where basically they could just go, like if you say they want to pop bottles one night, they just go, they just put it on the Russian credit card.

While documented that Russian oligarchs heavily fund hockey, the specific 'unlimited credit card' for individuals is an unverified but widely discussed urban legend in hockey.

I am a full-blown Manalytics guy now

I have to say, boys, I hate to do it, but I'm going to give a little hat tip to Colin Cowherd. Because I am a full-blown Manalytics guy now. It's all Manalytics in the playoffs.

This is a subjective framing of how he views sports through the lens of 'manhood' and 'labor metrics'.

The Celtics are just a better team than the Cavs

The Celtics are just a better team than the Cavs. I still think this is going to be a series because it's LeBron. LeBron has kind of got that Aaron Rodgers thing where when the Packers are eliminated from the playoffs, you're like, but he'll probably throw a Hail Mary and they'll end up in the playoffs.

The Celtics eventually lost this series in 7 games, but at the time, they were dominating the Cavs roster-wise.

LeBron James got a concussion in Game 2

I'm going to LeBron stand for real for a second because I think he did get a concussion. I think he did get knocked out. He got clipped on the jaw pretty good. He was definitely dinged up. He looked off when he first came back.

LeBron was never in the concussion protocol, though he looked dazed. It remains a fan theory.

The NHL should move to a longer 3-on-3 overtime to avoid shootouts

I actually think that they should move to a longer three on three. Even if you added two extra minutes... I think would, would make a lot more games end in in in overtime as opposed to going to a shootout.

Shootouts remain a divisive topic in hockey, and many fans/players share this sentiment.

If Team USA and Canada meet in the final, it will go to overtime

I'll say that the way that the Olympics have gone so far, as far as the hockey, I think it's going to overtime. I think it's gonna be Canada, us.

USA and Canada met in the 2026 Olympic men's hockey gold medal final on February 22, 2026, and the game did go to overtime. The USA won 2-1 in OT on a Jack Hughes goal 1:41 into overtime.

Hockey is on the rise and the Four Nations tournament will be a high-stakes precursor to the Olympics

Hockey's on the rise man. On the rise. Hockey's on a heater as we always say on the podcast, the last two years. And on top of that, boys we're heading into an Olympic year. With all that Four Nations... precursor to the Olympics coming up. It ain't the Olympics. We all know that. But don't act like they weren't playing for something. They were playing for pride.

This is an inherently subjective opinion about the state of the sport and the prestige of a specific tournament.
