The Stanley Cup Final will be the Colorado Avalanche vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning

I would say Colorado, Tampa in the finals. So Tampa will be going for it back to back. ... I would say Colorado, Tampa, and that would be good for hockey. Two Southern markets in the United States thriving.

The 2021 Stanley Cup Final was Tampa Bay vs. Montreal. Colorado lost in the second round.

Phil Mickelson's victory is the 'Burning Man for Gen Xers'

Standing next to Phil Mickelson, like what you saw in the 18th hole, that's Burning Man for Gen Xers. That's as close as they'll get to taking drugs and going to a music festival and discovering their inner selves for three days.

Subjective comparison of fan demographics and cultural impact.

Brooks Koepka would have won the PGA Championship by 15 strokes if his knee was healthy

[Brooks Koepka's] knee is hurting him, and he wasn't able to get all the way low to read putts, and the putter is what kind of killed him today and this weekend. So Ipso facto, he probably would have won this tournament by 15 strokes if his knee was okay.

Hot TakeGolfFireSarcastic
Koepka finished tied for second, two strokes behind Mickelson. There is no way to verify he would have won by 15 strokes.

The Celtics vs. Nets series is basically over after Game 1

Obviously, the Celtics lost. That first half, though. They had a great first half. They had a chance. Kemba Walker played terribly in the second half, and the series is basically over. Sweep. Maybe gentlemen's sweep.

The Nets won the series 4-1, which is a 'Gentlemen's Sweep.'

The NHL should move to a longer 3-on-3 overtime to avoid shootouts

I actually think that they should move to a longer three on three. Even if you added two extra minutes... I think would, would make a lot more games end in in in overtime as opposed to going to a shootout.

Shootouts remain a divisive topic in hockey, and many fans/players share this sentiment.

If Team USA and Canada meet in the final, it will go to overtime

I'll say that the way that the Olympics have gone so far, as far as the hockey, I think it's going to overtime. I think it's gonna be Canada, us.

USA and Canada met in the 2026 Olympic men's hockey gold medal final on February 22, 2026, and the game did go to overtime. The USA won 2-1 in OT on a Jack Hughes goal 1:41 into overtime.

Hockey is on the rise and the Four Nations tournament will be a high-stakes precursor to the Olympics

Hockey's on the rise man. On the rise. Hockey's on a heater as we always say on the podcast, the last two years. And on top of that, boys we're heading into an Olympic year. With all that Four Nations... precursor to the Olympics coming up. It ain't the Olympics. We all know that. But don't act like they weren't playing for something. They were playing for pride.

This is an inherently subjective opinion about the state of the sport and the prestige of a specific tournament.
